Hey guys i'll be traveling to Europe in August and I plan on taking my HP DV7 with me. I'll be flying American Airlines and all of their first class seats have power adapters they call them "Cigarette Type Adapters" So i'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction of what type of adapter I need to get I found a couple things I think may work this and this
These are the closest things that I could find that might work but i would really like to find the right one so that i have power on the flight so that I can watch movies and use the airplanes WiFi if they offer it,. So any suggestions or product reccomendations would be huegely appreciated.

Excellent site about air travel and notebook power, it has info on cigerette type adapters too. They seem to recommend LIND for these things ( I saw your links). Also I highly doubt they will have wifi on transatlantic flights.

You know, I have kinda the same question as well with car adapters. I know that the G72GX I use takes 150watts...which theres no problem finding a power inverter thats 150+ watts...but Ive noticed that amps are a big deal. I have a Black&Decker 450 watt but the amps are high enough for the laptops power supply which causes the fuse in the power inverter to blow...
Is there anyway to power a high-end laptop from your car? -
"First Class" is usually mega-bucks ($4000 for transatlantic/$6000 transpacific or more usually). And they serve you free liquor, wine, snacks, etc., as well as a nice meal.
There is no WiFi on overseas flights, because the current WiFi systems deployed on AA jets use an air-to-ground system which does not work over oceans. AFAIK, aircraft configured for long-haul, over-the-ocean travel, are not equipped with the systems. Only the so-called 'domestic fleet', (a certain number of 737 and 757/domestic 767 aircraft). are equipped.
So, quite frankly, if you're addicted to your laptop, your best option is probably to buy a second battery and charge it prior to your flight.
Have a safe and happy trip! There is a possibility that you will be on one of the updated 777's which contain the Panasonic ex2 entertainment system (Linux-based!), and standard plug-ins for your laptop. But typically, anything over 80W from such outlets is a crapshoot. -
HP has it's own travel adapter. It has all three: wall plug, car cigarette type plug and airplane plug. On the laptop side it has plugs for current business laptops and pavilions and an adapter for older pavilions.
