So, I have a laptop, Lenovo IdeaPad 100 which has a 1366*768 60hz screen with intel Celeron n2840 and intel HD graphics (no numbers). Now, I just bought a 1080p 144hz LG monitor and I was wondering if I am able to use the 144hz. As of right now, the game I am playing (osu) says it's refreshing at 60hz with 120-240fps (i have a 240fps limiter). I've tried to get 144hz working. if I go into display settings, all the settings are greyed out and inaccessible (so I can't change resolution or the refresh rate). If I go into hd graphic settings, I'm able to change the resolution but the only way I can get the monitor to use more than 60hz is if I choose the lowest setting. Not the second to lowest. just the lowest. Then, I'm able to choose 120hz and have the game refresh at 120hz. If I go up 1 setting, my max refresh is 60hz... In short, I'm getting enough fps so the monitor refresh rate is useful... but I can't find a way to get it to run at 120 or 144hz.

    Random information
I use 1080p when i'm using normal desktop stuff like browser, papers
I use 1366*768 full when i run osu. It is not stretched to fit the screen.
Connection is HDMI, I do believe it's 1.4 or 2.0
Supposedly you can manually change the game text to add custom refresh rates override current refresh rates. I've tried and failed.

    Thank you

As the CPU you have is at the very bottom of the performance spectrum, it's extremely unlikely that its built in GPU is able support ultra high refresh rates.
