Hey. I just purchased a new laptop, Acer 3820TG which has 13.3" HD LED screen (1366x768). It's way too glossy and reflective and was wondering if anyone have recommendations for a high quality anti reflective screen coating which I can attach to the screen. Colour and contrast is important as I'm also a photographer (but I don't use a mac)
Thanks

anti reflective coating is already applied to your screen. That's why it's glossy and reflective.
What you want is "anti glare" screen protector. Check ebay. -
oh haha yeah anti-glare. Know any good ones?
-
Check out Amazon (anti glare screen protector) - Speck is one of many good brand.
cheers ... -
You sure Speck makes anti glare protectors for laptops? From their website they only have accessories for phones; i.e. iphones, ipads, blackberry.

A lot of glossy screens have little or poor quality anti-reflective coating. The problem is there is too much marketing with names and not enough information on the type of anti-reflective coating used. Anti-glare is the same as matte, and not preferable for photography since its MO is to lower reflection by scattering light (which has the effect of also distorting colors to your eyes). Try Lexar on amazon. I ordered one for my macbook awhile back and its nothing short of amazing... Excellent customer service as well.

Photodon too, I use their crystal clear model.

I'll second Photodon.

The OP said he doesn't want anything glossy or refective so that's what I gave him. I am personally against the idea of applying a protector onto my screen.
And
Anti glare not being suitable for photography? I think that's BS. Name a decent monitor with a glossy screen? Have you seen one? There's a reason they don't make those(The apple imac 27'' is an exception, but who'd prefer 16:9 for any pro photo/graphical work anyway?). The link you provided is all theory, and I'd like to stick to my real world, first hand experience. I've been through almost every IPS/PVA/MVA panel since day one.
