Yup, I was sick looking at the glossy screen of my laptop. So I went ahead and bought a matte screen protector that's design for my laptop, Samsung R480. It only cost me $14, with very good packing. The package was totally unfoldable.

I got it on Saturday, it was early too. I installed it today. It was very hard to install but I managed to get it done. Unfortunately, there are some bubbles, but some will disappear overtime.

Anyway, it's looks great, I can't be any happier. :)

Does anybody else just sick of glossy screen and got a matte screen protector?

I also hate glossy. Ever since owning a matte laptop, I've never looked back.

Unlike glossy, I can be on the computer for several hours and still be fine.

With glossy, my eyes get a little watery and I blink faster and faster after a few hours.

I am looking at something like this for mine as well, did it diminish the colors at all?

Matte screen protectors have CONs, they usually reduce brightness, add graininess and may also impact viewing angles. I tried most of the top rated shields/films/filters (from 20$ to 150$) and neither could match a quality of a proper matter screen. If you can upgrade the panel to the matte/anti-glare during the purchase, go 4 it. You can also find a proper screen from a third party supplier and replace it yourself but that may void the warranty. Plus, not everyone is comfortable about tearing their systems apart. :)

I've been looking at the matte ones on eBay but $100 seems a little steep for it right now. I personally have no issues pulling my laptop apart, and seeing as how I already upgraded the CPU I killed the 2 year warranty already. lol
Thanks for the info on the screen protectors though, I guess I'll wait and search around more for a replacement screen.
