Hello guys,
I have an Acer laptop and I want to buy a speaker for it. I have been searching online for a long time, and it seems that Logitech Z623 and Edifier S330D are more popular than other models. I'm not familiar with speakers and can you guys tell me how good these two models are? (They are not cheap, one for $139 and the other for $159)
Detailed information below:
Logitech Z623:![]()
THX certificated, totally 200W, good plastic housing for 2 speakers and wooden housing for the subwoofer.
Edifier S330D:![]()
totally 72W, wooden MDF housing for all speakers and subwoofer.
BTW, I won't consider 5.1 system because there is not enough space in my bedroom to put so many speakers. Also, it is not a practical idea for a laptop, I think.
Or if you have other recommendations, please feel free to post it.
Thanks a lot. Waiting for your advice online!!!!![]()

I have a klipsch promedia 2.1 speaker set and they've done well by me for years. I'd recommend them to anyone, although I heard they were having amp issues on the early models. I've had mine for 6 years or so and no issues here

Another vote for klipsch promedia 2.1.
Had them for a year and they were fantastic. -

I've heard great things about the M-Audio AV40's, I currently use a pair of Bose Companion II's which are plenty fine, nothing special but I got em for real cheap.

If your going to game then the Logitech Z2300 is good. If your going to use them for music then the Klipsch Pro Media is good.

yet a third vote for the klipschs. find them.

I have a set of Bose Companion 3s... They are excellent, but I'm happy to admit that they are over-priced.
If you can find a set of Companion 3s within your budget, I'd go for them (it's highly unlikely). Thus, my vote is also going to the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1.
EDIT: I meant Companion 3 series II. The original companion 3s are pretty sub-standard. -
At the lower budget levels and laptop range I think you are far better off to apply the money to better 2.0 speakers than worse 2.1 speakers. You will have far higher quality sound and with bigger drivers you can get decent base. Just because something says it has a subwoofer does not mean it is true. For instance alot of laptops claim to have a subwoofer built in, but this is more or less a joke, what kind of subwoofer is small enough to fit in a laptop? A good quality woofer will produce base that is deeper and cleaner than a poor quality subwoofer.
Plus if you buy a nice 2.0 setup you can add an actual subwoofer that will give you clean deep base later when you have more money. -
Definitely the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1's. They pack so much punch it seems impossible that they sound as good as they do. I'm from canada as well, and i got them from Canada computers. They have them everywhere dude, you just gotta look.

If you live in the Toronto area, there was an ad on kijiji for a brand new pair of the promedia 2.1's for $149 the other day.

I've ordered plenty of things from online and have yet to have a problem, that includeds buying some stuff from EBay that was shipped from Canada.
Buying from a major company I would not have any worries if I was you.
Any RECOMMENDATIONS for me to buy a 2.1 SPEAKER??
