So i finally got a new laptop with a lone usb 3.0 port. Since i have two Usb 3.0 portable hard drives i'm now looking at getting a Usb 3.0 hub with a power adapater so i can use them both at faster speed.
I've read lots of horror stories on amazon as some hubs don't come with power adapters and the portable drives don't work with them properly. This one looks to be the best so far

Amazon.com: AdvanCED USB3.0 Hub 4-port with Power Supply: Electronics

Do any of you have any suggestions or any experience with using Usb 3.0 hubs?

    Thanks

It's one of those things that people don't feel strongly about.

It's like asking me what brand of gas I like. I don't care, unless it makes tiny explosions in my car's engine that cause the drivetrain to propel it forward.

The reason i'm concerned that is that a lot of the hubs on amazon have pretty crappy reviews. If all of them worked as advertised then i would'nt care, unfortunately that does not seem to be the case.

I guess Usb 3.0 is still in its infancy and early adopters like me have to pay the price :p

The phrase "you get what you pay for" still applies. If you buy a hub for 5 bucks, expect it to suck.

Amazon.com: J-Tech Digital SuperSpeed USB 3.0 4-Port Hub Backward Compatible with USB 2.0 with USB 3.0 Cable: Electronics

That one looks pretty sweet and also appears to be decent.
