So I bought my new earphones at Target for twenty dollars to replace my older earphones that broke down. It worked well for two months but then it broke down completely and now it's useless. I find myself having to replace these earphones but I don't want to repeat a bad cycle of replacing earphones with ones that will break down in two months. This has happen four times.
Anyone know a good model to buy?

Skull Candy Ink'd, JVC Gummies, or Creative EP series.
-
Sennheiser always did ok for me.
-
I second Changturkey. Get Creative EP630.
-
skull candy lowrider .. really very nice and worth the money
-
I wouldn't get anything from skullcandy, but thats because I also enjoy headphones that sound good. I usually go with Sennheiser, but I hear good things of the Creative EP's also.
-
i use SHURE e2c earphones. they've been good for over a year. sound-isolating too
-
Define "cheap"..

I always had good experiences with creative earphones. Sennheisers I hear are very good as well. For cans I would recommend a good pair of audio technicas -
Sennheiser Cx300's are good.
-
I haven't really found anything wrong with Skullcandy earphones, but then again, I bought the Ink'd pair I have at 10$ soooo I figure their performance is better than what they cost me lol XD
Umm yeah, Creatives EP would be a good option. Sennheisers are really good too, but a tad pricey, but well worth the money! -
Cheap with good sound - Koss KSC75. Just ask Head-Fi about them. Style is a little wonky though. Koss has a lifetime, no-questions-asked warranty.

CX 300. My girlfriend has been using hers for 1 1/2 years and it haven't broke. For the price the SQ is pretty good.

I bought a pair of these over a year ago and they are still going strong. They sound pretty good and if you put the correct size earbud on them they can produce decent bass and cut out most of background noise. -
Nobody mentioned Sony - have a good look at Sony, the EX85 are beautiful in terms of sound, but possibly a bit pricy for you...
-
get something like Sennheiser MX400 or MX55 earbuds.. really nice and balanced out.
MX400 is like $20 max and MX55 is around $30-40 -
+1 for the cx300s, they're a tad more expensive than the skullcandys and sonys but sound way cleaner imo
-
Check out Headphone.com They give you a value rating along with a description of the cans. I swear by them.
-
I just bought a CX300 from Buy here for $15 shipped.
Only downside, I guess, is that it's pink, but I think they're cute and it's a pretty good price!

I have no idea how much you are looking to pay, but I have a pair of Apple In-Ear Headphones and they are amazing.
I've been using them for about 3 years and I'm only on my second pair (First pair broke because they got smashed in between a bunch of my stuff).
I listen to them very loud and they have never blown. -
never go for CX300. -
I just picked up a pair of Creative EP-630s from Newegg for $21.99.
-
Don't ever buy Skullcandy anything. They aren't worth anyone's money.
If you want some cheap headphones that are fairly decent, buy some JVC Marshmallows and kramer mod them. -
fellow head-fi member here, I would like to recommend the jvc marshmallows, or the akg earbuds
-
. The CX300 are the best buds I've heard that cost under $100, but I have yet to try the JVC marshmallows...

Sony, muddy? Overpover everything with bass?
Which ones? I'm pretty sure it can't be my EX85 as these are (in my opinion even better than my logitech speakers with a subwoover...
Bass is only present when its also in them music - and often its not.
They will cause "odd noises" if you eat while wearing them, but else - I find them perfect... -
I judged the sony buds with my past experience using them. It has been a while since I've bought a pair of sonys so they might have improved since then
.

Ah, OK. I know I used Sony hedphones for 12 odd € about - ähm, 4-5 years ago...
Then I changed to the "large" Sony ones that cover your ear, at 40€... (still got them, and one pair (third) with "cabling storage") - and then, this summer tried the EX85 - and have used them since, I think they are great.
(I may upgrade in the future (Sony again) but first I'm going to use these for a while, they aren't cheap at 45 Pounds) -
Phillips Surround Sound Earbuds, $20, awesome at all ranges, nothing more needed.
-
Sony's consumer level stuff sucks ...they are most mediocre.
Any cheap earphones that don't break down after a month?
