Hi all. Going to purchase a portable external hard drive possibly today. Was looking at the WD passport 160GB or a new Toshiba one I seen, also 160GB. The links for the two are below. Any opinions on which would be most reliable would be much appreciated.

Hmm...not too sure about the Toshiba. The WD Passport is a very popular model, and should serve you well.

Go with WD or LaCie

The Toshiba one is only new out I think. Its got NTI backup software preloaded, I was looking it up and it sounds pretty useful. Was opting towards the WD passport but I recently used my friends one to back up my data when I had to restore my laptop to factory settings and I lost most of my movies somewhere along the way.

There are plenty (and some free!) backup utilities that will perform better than ANY included-softwares...

But WD is more expensive per size. .. which means you 'll pay much more for same size when buying WD.
Oh but but .. the Build quality is Superb, & the harddisk is well-cushioned & cooled.
Any opinions on these two external HD's please
