Any way to make laptop cooler fan spin faster?

I just bought an Enermax Aeolus; it's not bad, but imo it spins wayyyy too slowly; I want it to go faster.

Is there any way for that to happen?

 

USB can only supply so much power to the fan.

 

Hmm so would I have to connect the USB to a USB-to-outlet plug? Or would i need to find an even better way to supply power to it? Cuz that's all I can think of =/

 

USB standard says 5V @ 500mA along EACH PORT... which means if you have multiple devices connected using an self-powered USB hub, it's not enough

some devices like the USB cooler might try to draw more power than the USB standard...

you can get a USB hub with a power adapter... like this one, though the review for that one sucked

or you could go macgyver and wire up your own power supply, if you know about electronics

(hint... some USB HUB + Power adapter have a power adapter of 5V @ 2A... this means a total of 2.5A.... if the HUB has 7 ports and EACH port requires 500mA, you need 500mA*7 = 3.5A.... not enough....

though usually you won't run into this problem... unless you run 7 external 2.5" HDDs)

 

More spins, more noise - constant and well placed fan position is best to cool down notebook environment.

You might want to take a look at some Coolermaster fans.
And what has made you to want a cooling pad in the first place ? If your laptop has gone too hot, it might be time to clean up the laptop.

 

Lol its' a Studio XPS 13; that thing gets hot; the laptop cooler helps + undervolting, but undervolting does most of the cooling; but yeah, I just want this thing to be as cool as possible

Fast fan rotation isnt exactly my main focus, moreso that I just want the fan that I have to spin faster

Small, powerful, and blows a lot of air. A single fan probably blows 25x more air than the heatsink fan on your laptop. LOL Imagine having 4 or 8 of them hooked up together.

Changing the fan will do nothing, its a 20" fan ...



To OP: there is nothing you can do about it, the only way to raise CFM is to get the air going through the fan colder than it is now.. turn on an aircon.

220V is AC, not DC. For that type of fan it won't work. But of course, if you want your fan to explode, be my guest.
