I've been thinking about changing out my MS Sidewinder X6 for one of these. I dig the size and would take it with me to work and when traveling. I've not ordered from this retailer, but they seem to be the only ones who carry this particular keyboard. If anyone has experience with them or can suggest another reputable place that stocks this item for less money, I'd love to hear it.

Cool. You're something of a keyboard guru; have you used a Leopold keyboard and/or one with Topre switches?

Hmmm. I actually have/had them all.

Not a giant Topre fan - in fact, given the choice of the X6 or the Topre I'd pick the former every time, though I still have a number of Realforces hanging out on PC's I don't use very often. The slow return (in comparison to the X6) is particularly a problem for me. The Topre action makes for a trained-for-typewriters typists keyboard and I just don't think it makes much sense for gaming, especially in a limited-layout format.

Elite is legit - it's where I ordered my Leopolds from. Personally I'd go for Filco over Leopold but there's not really a huge difference in practical terms, though there are detail pros and cons - Filcos are better keyboards for long-term use IMO. But again, not a huge Cherry fan either.

    Typed from an X6, natch.

Elitekeyboards is one of the few companies that sells computer equipment that never accepts returns or exchanges. Even very inexpensive keyboards can be returned or exchanged but not with Elitekeyboards and with the expensive keyboards they sell. In addition, their customer service is non-responsive (they consider a good response to be within 24 hours) and they are rude. Why buy from Elitekeyboards that cares nothing about making customers satisfied when you can buy off of Amazon and get full returns, and not get insulted by its arrogant customer service? Elitekeyboards adds no value as a retailer and sticks customers with keyboards they don't want -- making them sell them on eBay.
