It seems the G9 refresh has been released in the United States and I can get it locally as well despite the relatively recent release preventing price lists from being published. Anyone out there have the mouse now and willing to give a review/impression on what's it like?

-
Don't really have it right now but isn't it basically a G9 with like 5000DPi or something?
From the looks of it... It is -
-
i dont even get close to the 3200 dpi onmy g9...cant even imagine gaming at 5000 lol...probably be spinning in circles just from your hand shaking lol
-
I use my G9 at 2400 dpi. 3200 is useable though. I guess it depends on how big your screen. I have 4480x1200 so any low dpi takes a long time to traverse across the monitors. 1600 is ok to but i prefer 2400 because i don't have to move the mouse as much. Though it is pretty sensitive. It is like moving an inch to go across my 1920 and 3 inches to get across it all.
Really, i think the higher resolution is just a marketing gimic. -
3200 dpi is already nuts, anymore would be... not really necessarily for most people on single monitor... unless you've got QXGA screen or something.
-
DPI is not the same as sensitivity. Set your mouse to the full 3,200 DPI (or whatever your maximum is), and then turn the mouse sensitivity settings in your game, or Windows control panel significantly down, like to 1/3 of its original sensitivity.
That way you get to take full advantage of the precision of high DPI settings, without doing a full 360 every inch. -
-
I knew I should have waited. I was just thinking the other night that my G9 is nice but it needs another 1800DPI in accuracy.
-
Setpoint software is really helpful in this sense, excellent hardware+great software cannot really go wrong.
-
Agreed. I love Logitech support software. It does what I need it to do and it doesn't bloat my system at all. I use Setpoint in addition to the G15 profile manager.
-
Which one is better:
Logitech G9
Saitek Cyborg Mouse
Razer Mouse (forgot the model name)
PS: I always thought Saitek makes better gaming hardware since they built really detailed Airplane control pad with all the bell and whistle while Logitech only give us Joystick. -
I personally recommend the Logitech G9.
Saitek is generally a good company, though. Their gaming keyboards in particular are top-notch. -
what is the price difference between G9 and G9x?
and is there any spec difference beside the higher DPI? -
From the logitech website, they're both of the same price of $99.99. I don't think there are any other differences except for the higher DPI
-
Anyone else have more info on this? -
From all the websites that I've read, the Dpi is the only difference.
-
While the g9 can be had often for 50 dollars, the extra dpi doesnt seem worth twice the price to me.
-
I guess I'll wait for a few months before buying the G9/G9x since the price is rather high right now locally. Thanks for the input.
-
$99.99 at Logitech website is MSRP. Street price usually lower.
so, my speculation is that G9 will be cheaper than G9x since G9 already in the market for quite sometime.
Oh, btw, those of you who have G9 mouse, does the 2 button for DPI switching programable into other task in game (such as weapon switching)?
If not, I might get MX Revolution instead. it have dual wheels. I need the extra wheel for better control in Soldier of Fortune II game. yup, old game, but I love it a lot. The weapon handling system is great. -
-
My current Logitech Cordless MX Duo Mouse only have 4 programmable buttons
Btw, the mouse wheel can be pressed to the left and right too, I presume? -
you can switch the buttons yes
-
oooh never noticed the scroll button was able to be pressed left and right... Handy
-
LOL
anyway, which one is better, Logitech G9 or Saitek Cyborg Mouse?
Saitek Cyborg Mouse have 10 buttons and motorized adjustable length!!! -
-
-
Hmm, I think I'm gonna go with MX Revolution instead.
The 2nd wheel really interesting for gaming. it's like you have G9 but with extra 2 programmable buttons (although the 2nd wheel is not a button per se, but its forward and backward movement can add 2 more function in game). -
How big is the G9x compared to regular non-gaming lazer mice? I'd like something larger than my stock logitech laser mouse since it's painful to game for long periods with a semi-claw grip.
-
I think its size is medium.
If you want bigger mouse, go with MX Revolution instead. -
I'm going for the G9X for these reasons:
1. It's a laser mouse with decent Dpi
2. It's larger than my current stock logitech laser.
3. It's probably built to withstand lots of click-mashing.
4. It isn't a wireless mouse.
5. It's designed as a palm grip. -
^^
yeah, 1 thing i dont like about MX Revolution is that it is wireless.
My current Logitech mouse is wireless too, and I hate the fact that you have to recharge the battery every now and then. Really annoying when in the middle of the gaming heat, your mouse battery drained up. -
Good choice with the G9X. I think you'll be happy with the size, especially with the adjustable grips. For the record, Logitech sells a 3rd grip now on their site, the ID grip, which is even larger than the wide-load grip that comes with the mouse. It's awesome if you have huge hands like I do.
-
I just looked they dont sell that grip anymore.
-
what grip? any link?
-
Here's the link: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/634/4818&cl=us,en
And here's a picture of mine (sorry, cell phone camera quality), I selected and uploaded the image myself. I think it came out rather nicely:
-
I though there's another grip, for the wheel or the button, etc. -
dont they sell a wired version of the mx revolution?..
thought they did..but cant compare that to the g9 in my opinion -
no, AFAIK, there is no wired version of MX Revolution.

I just bought the G9x today, And its working well. I'm actually using all 5000dpi on it, Turned down the sensitivity so its actually usable. And MAN Is it incredibly smooth and precise. Just as good or better than any Razer mouse ive used.
I never really thought the weights would make a difference, but Its nice being able to weight the mouse to your liking. -
I also just bought one at Best Buy, they had it on sale last weekend at my local store.
Man, I love this thing! Feels great in the hand, and the precision/smoothness is amazing. Now, full disclaimer, this is my first "gaming" mouse, but I've had a ton of mice in the past, but the g9x is awesome! Incrediblely smooth and also totally customizable. Great product. -
I'm glad you enjoy yours.
I loved my original G9, although I never really used the weights; I prefer my mice as light as possible. Definitely one of the things I love about my DeathAdder.
-
Nice to see the G9x is still getting new fans long after initial release.
I've never really tried the weights to be honest, but the mouse feels fine from the get-go. A pity some of the feet are really beginning to show a bit of wear even on a mousepad. -
Doesn't Logitech sell replacements for those?
-
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
-
If you've still got warranty, then I would definitely try to get replacements that way first. If not, then those Hyperglide things look pretty legit.
-
Soviet Sunrise Notebook Prophet
A few of my LAN buddies use them on their G5's. They are just as slick and smooth as the OEM feet, except white. You also get two full sets of replacement feet for your mouse. I have a set for my G9x but the OEM feet haven't worn down severely yet.

DPI = sensitivity k?
u wont notice any more "precision" from doing high DPI, low sensitivity vs lower DPI w/ normal sensitivity. keep ur DPI @ what sensitivity u prefer and dont change windows sensitivity. precision is only up to u, any optical/laser mouse will be fine.
Anyone have the Logitech G9x?
