    Hello everyone,

I was randomly looking at laptop backpacks and the Alienware Vindicator looks good. Does anyone own this backpack? I tried to look up for some reviews about it, unfortunately there isn't lots of videos for them, so I am looking for your opinions. How is the quality and construction of the backpack itself? Is it water-resistant, or possibly water-proof? How is the comfort on the backpack? Do you have a problem fitting your thick, gaming laptops? How would you rate this backpack overall, in a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the lowest, 10 being the highest. What do you have to say about this backpack? Thank you.

It will definetly fit anything.. I've not used it but I've read that most people using it like it.. I have a Asus ROG Bagpack which came with my G73JH and its pretty good and fits my 17x just abouts.. I've been using it for 4 years and really have no complaints....

I have the Vindicator for the M18x-R2. Also have the older Orion backpack as well. I would rate the Orion at 9/10 and Vindicator at 7/10. Looks wise it wasn't as nice and I feel they cheapened out on materials a bit.

I always thought the Orion was the cheaper version of the Vindicator... are you sure about this?

It's all from a users perspective anyway lol. I felt the Vindicator could've used some sturdier material.

Though, I do hear people getting cheaper versions on the Orion back in the day so maybe those were the "knockoffs" possibly.

How do you compare the Orion and the Vindicator in terms of construction and quality? And, did you buy it from the right source? Just asking lol.

Thanks for reply. Looking forward for your first impressions of the backpack. One thing I don't understand is that all sizes are the same price... atleast on Dell's website. Other sources like Amazon, different size, different prices.

Nice pictures you got there. Looking forward for your comments later. By the way, do you think the bag is water-resistant?

Some notes and comments, take note that I have not used it enough to make a proper review.

It´s big, as seen on the pictures it make the AW18 look small.
It has a lot of compartments and smart pockets and it will suite me well for my AW18, I can actually if I wanted to fit my GF´s laptop and my Surface pro 2 on top of my AW18 without to much hassle.
So for my use I find it will fill its purpose with ease.

The first quality impression is good, although I would have preferred some other design choices if I could.
    1. the front looks like it would be of hard plastic, looks protective but it is not at all as hard and sturdy as I would have imagined or wanted.
    2. I´m used to carry an Lenovo/IBM ThinkPad backpack in work for my work computer, the sturdiness and computer compartment protection on that is superb, I can throw it on conveyor belts in airports and toss it in the car without care and I still feel confident that the computer will be protected.
I do not get exactly that feeling from this backpack, I´m confident that it will protect my AW18 good enough for my use but I would not have minded if it was just a little more padding in the bottom of the computer compartment and maybe even on the sides.
now I would not threat my AW18 like I treat my x220 but still with a bag that is made for carrying one of the most powerful computers on the market I would not have any issue with it being a bit more padded.

I will use it alittle and will return with new comments if I have some new things to add, I´m still happy I got it just because it fits the look and of my AW18 perfect, it would feel wrong in carrying it in anything else then a AW backpack :)

-Comment on water resistance, sure some what water resistant if feels to be like I guess most backpacks are, water proof it is most likely not.

Thanks Cequence. Looks like the backpack is pretty huge as you described. Do you think, in your personal opinion, is the backpack too big for you? I mean, it's not too "oversized" for a regular sized adult, right?

Is there anything you don't like about the backback? Any discomforts, etc.?

I guess backpacks aren't that water-resistant after all. Just got to be careful in the rain, I guess.

It is big yes, but then again so is the AW18.
I would not personally wish for it to be smaller, it does not bother me.
It is noting I´m going hiking with or so, I will use it to get from point A to Point B with the laptop protected from scratches and transportation damages.
And the fact I can load it up with the rest I want to bring is just a bonus.
Since I just got it I can´t say anything about quality as a total because that only show itself after regular use daily tbh.

there is nothing that I really dislike so far, sure I hade a little fault in one of the small zippers, a manufacturing glitch but it´s nothing that will bother me (it was for the water bottle holder zipper)
And as I said in a previous post I would have wished for some other design/material choices, but then again I have not found a better choice of backpack that both fits the AW18 and also follow the aesthetics as well as this one.

Thanks again Cequence. One more question I have to ask.

Does your back feel sweaty from the backpack itself (during the hot days)?

Hehe, I live in Sweden here the hot days are long gone!
I had +9C this morning and if lucky it will be +17-20C max in the afternoon.

So sadly I can´t give a good answer to that question.

Damn, you must be lucky to live in a cold weather. Over here at Los Angeles it can get as hot to +30C. Guess I should move, haha.

Hey, It´s an Samsung 64D8000 Plasma, it´s a few years now but nothing really beats it except Panasonics flagships.
I´m one of that dying breed that thinks Plasma is the best choice for movie watching on a TV.

I dread the day it breaks and I need to get a new TV (Lets hope OLED is affordable then, only real upgrade in my book)

Sorry for bringing back such an old topic, but I just want to ask a question. Does it have space to put your water bottles on the side of the backpack? On the alienware's website, the galleries of the backpack said it has space for a water bottle. However, when I look at youtube reviews, they all said it doesn't have space for a water bottle or such.

This picture is from the Amazon site . I tried putting a water bottle in the pouch on mine and its kind of tight . probably the size of the bottle was the issue .
