Anyone use a PCMIA eSATA card to hook up an eSATA external Hardrive?

How much faster is it actually compared to USB2?

    eSATA > Firewire > USB

Esata hits speeds of up to 3gbs as it is SataII. I believe usb 2.0 limit is theoretically set at 480 mbps

    You will notice the difference.

See this thread. Same HDD, same enclosure, different interfaces.

You will see an even bigger difference if you connect a 3.5" HDD.

I will use it when I can get a cable, nobody in town sells them:-(, unbelievable.
I have a FreeAgent Pro that supports it but they didn't supply a cable and the Toshiba U405D-S2852 has a combined USB/eSata port.
