Anywhere MX or G700

I travel a lot and like to game when I am on the road. I am trying to get a tavel mouse that is good enough to game. First I dont usually program any special buttons and I use the Razer Deathadder when I am home. I am trying to decide if I should pick up the G700 or the Anywhere MX for when I am on the road. Now that being said there have been several times that I just could not get my mouse to work for gaming when I was traveling because of the surfaces available to me and that is why I may be leaning towards the anywhere mouse but wanted some feedback before I pulled the trigger on one.

 

In my opinion the G700 isn't really a travel mouse; it would be a replacement for your Deathadder (as it is a better mouse in my opinion), not a mobile only mouse. I personally wouldn't use mine on any surface other than a mouse pad because I wouldn't want to mess up the slider "feet." It probably CAN track on a variety of surfaces, but it isn't specifically designed to as it is primarily a mouse for gaming on a desk.

 

Good input I do use a pad at home and I would be willing to get a travel pad to take take with me. but am looking for something portable.

 

Well all mouses are inherently portable because of their size. The G700 is a little large, but it has no wire. To me it just seems odd that you would be considering getting a mouse that is better and more expensive than your current gaming mouse to use ONLY while on the road... The G700 is a good mouse, but I have a feeling if you get it you may not want to ever go back to your wired deathadder.

Also, why is the Dell u2410 the worst monitor ever? I was under the impression that it was highly rated. I have a newer ultrasharp and I am quite impressed with it.

 

Well I am not against replacing my Deathader in any way I just want something I can take on the road with me easily. But it would be nice to have something separate that I don't have to constantly remove from my office setup.

On the U2410, I am a photographer and my version has the green to pink color tint when it is calibrated... it drives me up the wall! Dell claims it is not a problem and because the center of the monitor shows correct color there is no issue! Since they class it as normal I cant return it! I just may have to say it no longer powers on and get a replacement!

 

The mouse you want to look into buying is a Razer Orochi. 4000dpi 1000Hz USB polling rate in wired mode (for gaming use). 2000dpi 125Hz polling rate in Bluetooth mode (for non-gaming use). And you will want to bring along a small mousepad, like a Razer Kabuto, for your gaming.

The Logitech G700 is a superior mouse when it comes to pure performance (5700dpi 1000Hz in both wired and wireless mode). But it is larger than a Razer Orochi so it can be more cumbersome to travel with.

The Logitech Anywhere MX has the benefit of being able to mouse on any surface. But the drawback is that the raw performance of the mouse is poor. 1800dpi, 125Hz USB polling rate.

Seriously, if you want to play games on the road, then bring a gaming mouse and a gaming mouse surface.

 

I'd recommend G700 if you decide to get a pad for travel.

I love my AnywhereMX, but now I'm using G700 (I use mousepad)
simply the best for me.
800 dpi from AnywhereMX is too low for my taste now,
I need at least 1600dpi to feel convenience (on windows, using 6/11 sens)
and the buttons have helped me a lot in productivity.

by all means , if you decide to go wireless, go g700 all the way

 

I bought Anywhere MX to always carry it with my Z21, I can use it "comfortably" for about 4 hours, then needin a rest. Too small for my hand, but can be fitted anywhere.

Next month, I will buy Performance MX set for home use, or maybe some other Logitech wireless mouse

 

I got a G9x and never used any of the programmable buttons before. I just started using them however for mostly web browsing and now, can't see myself without it. You might want to try to program a few if the Razer has extra buttons and that might make your decision easier. For web browsing, it's so much nicer to use just the mouse to switch between different web tabs, reload page, close page, top of page, bottom etc...

I'm looking at the G700 too now with even more buttons!

 

Ok I am going for a G700, SteelSeries QcK Heavy pad for the house and a Razer Kabuto Mobile Mouse Mat for travel.

 

i dont think it is such a good idea to pair a large, heavy G700 with a small, thin and flimsy Kabuto mouse mat.

I used the G500 fine on the Kabuto. The Kabuto is definitely not "flimsy" it is thin but it perfectly sticks to the table so it doesn't even really matter.

 

The Kabuto would only be for travel not my main gaming pad. I would use the SteelSeries QcK Heavy pad for every day use.

 

I'm also trying to decide between two different mobile mouse. In my case it's a Anywhere MX vs Orochi simply because I prefer a smaller mouse on the go.

I'm leaning more towards the Anywhere MX which is cheaper and most importantly has Darkfield laser tracking and better battery life. With the money saved over the Orochi, I could add a bit more and get the a G300, Abyssus or Salmosa for gaming.

Still deciding, I'd like to have just one device but the Orochi does not track very good on the bed, couch and reflective non glass surfaces plus I heard the feet on the Orochi isn't all the great (might rip the bed sheets, couch and leave permanent marks on furniture).

 

ive heard endless complains of it not sticking to the surface properly. If its that good people would use it as their main mouse mat.

 

I just got the Anywhere MX, initial impressions not too spectacular. Darkfield works as it's suppose to but the low DPI, heavy weight and really small uncomfortable feel puts me off.

The mouse can operate with 1xAA but the weight in imbalanced (not spread evenly) and the battery life will much less. The clicks are really good but loud, middle click is not present; built quality is superb.

I'm returning the mouse for a just a regular Logitech M310 which I think would suit me better because of the size, weight (1xAA) and battery life. I will also be getting a Razer Abyssus with refunded balance.
