i think that you might have a enough space in it depending on how much other stuff you carry. 21L is about 1280 cubic inches if that helps you out any. and arcteryx stuff is really good stuff so that is nothing you need to worry about. i dont have that bag but i think you would be happy with anything from them. i have other items and they are awesome. so i wouldnt worry about quality. i think it will be close though but worth a try i would say

I use the Brainbag from www.tombihn.com with thier notebook sleeve called the monolith. The bag is 36 liters, offers lots of space, quite a few sizable pockets 2 of which you can stuff a 1 Liter water bottle in if you like, and it doesn't look like a laptop backpack. Its a little pricy but i'm happy with mine. This combo also offers great protection of your notebook, the monolith sleeve is quite well padded and reinforced.

just some more info there are tons of bags out there that you could look at. the stuff i am going to link to is more rugged type stuff but since you are looking at arcteryx bags im guessing that is something you want. i just know this stuff because i backpack/ rockclimb and stuff like that and these companies happen to make laptop bags as well.

hope some of those work for you. what i use is just any old backpack and a neoprene laptop sleeve. i also have the mountainsmith network sidebag type thing if you search google you can still find it, it is a few years old but i think you said you were looking for an actual backpack
