    Auction has ended.

Why are you expecting that they are fake?

Sony.ca says they are $145.00 and of course they are shipping from China.

you would know whether it is a fake when you use them... fake one uses pretty poor fit and finish.

Also, most of these brand new brand name headphone selling as new shipping from China can be a fake.

Post a picture of the headphone when you get it.

    Here you go!

I finally finished burning them in this morning and they sound fantastic. I'll try and get a review of them up in the next week or two hopefully.

The msrp listed at any brand's website is severely inflated over the real price.

I remember getting a fake Audio Technica ESW9 from ebay which was almost identical to my real one. It sounded pretty decent too. Most people wouldn't be able to tell.

Know what's sad? I remember a post at head-fi for some of the more expensive skullcandy headphones. The guy bought some on ebay for cheap, turned out they were fake.... The sad thing here is the fakes sounded way better then the real ones. :D

I've stopped buying anything from China (or Asia for that matter) when it comes to ebay.

I bought summer clothing brand name from South Korea and China, and after 2-3 wash cycles, the beige and blue colours turned greyish (and my sleeves for 1 shirt shrunk by 50%!!! ). On top of that, I bought a 10MP Camera from China and they sent me a 1MP. Got a laptop cover (to cover my keys/monitor) from China, and ended up with a toxic sheet of plastic (?) that made me cough/tear ....

I'd say that the majority of Asian sellers on ebay are con artists.

They're tricky sometimes. They'll use US/Canadian locations in their listing and then ship from China too. Always shop via credit card on paypal so you can do a chargeback if paypal fails to win back your money in a dispute.

    Looks genuine to me.

Put then on and see if they sound like the aural equivalent of sandpaper.

If they do, then it's definitely real :p

Judging from high-res pics found through google, they look to be very real indeed.

One genuine product does not mean they all will be. Maybe that is their ploy, send out a few real ones at a loss in money, and send out a majority of fake products. Although, I'm probably just being paranoid.

I used to live in china for work, and I know for a fact that it is very easy for them to obtain real packaging and then put a fake product inside, or simply copy it down to the exact detail. I've seen them do it with hard drive stickers which aren't easy to fake...

I've never seen them use real packaging. I've seen imitation real packaging, but never the authentic stuff. Compared side by side you can always tell it is different, though if you aren't looking for it specifically it could fool you.

Yah I haven't seen them do it too often, but I've noticed at some markets if you open up memory, for example, and install it right then and there they immediately take the packaging and put something else into it...granted computer memory isn't easily faked though

The MDR-7506/V6 is great. Only weakness is the stock earpads which can be slightly itchy and wear out after a year or two. There are better (non-Sony) replacements.
