I'm shopping for a mouse to use on my notebook, which I'll be using for gaming. I'd really prefer it to be wireless, and I've already found a nice one, but I've recently heard that they lag on FPS's and things. Is this true?

the cheaper ones have some lag, but if you buy a higher end one, it should work well for gaming.

vx nano is great, has no lag. Although the dpi is low (maybe 800dpi)
    great battery life too

With very few exceptions (like the Logitech G7 and Razer Mamba), wireless mice pretty much always have a response time of 8ms. Gaming mice generally have 1 or 2ms response. So, it's not ideal, but it's extremely unlikely that you'll actually have any problems with it. In terms of online gaming, it's equivalent to adding 8 to whatever your ping value is.

Is that 8ms response time only in games, or all the time? I've used another non-gaming wireless mouse before, for things besides gaming, and I didn't notice any lag. It would probably be okay in that case.

That's just a universal trait of the hardware.

If you're pretty casual, you should be fine. I don't think most people would fret over 8 ms delay. I do most of my gaming on my VX revolution and it's perfect for me. Logitech is a good brand.

Agreed. Unless you're trying to play CS:S in a pro league tournament, you probably won't be at a noticeable disadvantage.
