    Hey guys,

I was playing at an Outpost center yesterday where I tested the Asus Orion Pro while playing COD MW3 and the sound was unbelievable. I then realised I've been missing out on the amazing 'cinematic' experience of games this whole time and decided to buy myself a headset.
I can't decide between the Asus Orion Pro (which I already tested and liked), and the Corsair Vengeance 1500. Both have 7.1 sound. Both cost €90 including delivery. I haven't been able to find a comparative review so far. One site gave the Asus an average of 7.8 while the corsair recieved an average of 9.0

If you have other suggestion in this price range which offer a superb sound experience, do tell ;-)

Honestly, if you've already used and tested the Asus Onion Pro, then get it.

Under normal circumstances, I would typically recommend the Corsair Vengeance 1500 because it's been out longer, has a lot of positive reviews, and performs well.

However, in the case of audio gear, it is difficult to personally "test" or compare audio gear unless you actually have the physical units in your hand, and can do an A/B comparison. And that can get expensive, if you're buying from places that make it difficult to return (e.g. no returns, or restocking fee, or you need to pay for return shipping).

In this case, I say just buy the Asus Onion Pro. You've already tried it, you already know you think it's awesome, you already know you'll be happy with it.

I would personally recommend the Corsair Vengeance 1500's. But! You seem to like the orion's by asus so go with what you like. Like Kent said earlier "You've already tried it, you already know you think it's awesome, you already know you'll be happy with it."
    I would fallow that advice.
    :) =D

Yea it seems to be the most logical choice to chose something which I already know I like. I was having doubts because, sometimes you are missing out on a great experience because you don't know there is anything better out there. Just like I've been using the subwoofer in my 5.5 year old laptop for my audio experience, and have been fine with it untill I used the Asus headset. The fact that the corsair scored better, and looks supremely well built, made me doubt.

Everything you said I agree with, other than that you said the corsair looked supremely built. Yes it may look supreme but it's actually a plastic with a fin metal foil over it. That what makes people think that it's metal because the top coat makes it cold to the touch. Anyway I'm sure you'll be happy with your purchase! Just thought that'l help :)

I would visit the corsair forums and check out the crack issue everyone is having right now with their headsets. It is worth it to check it out, evidently its a major problem that corsair wont acknowledge right now. I saw others complaining about the cracking in another forum I visit frequently. Also, I myself would probably go with the set you know sounds good and you are happy with as others have said. Here is a pretty thorough review on the Asus headset which got a pretty good score and ranked well with all the different types of media ( games music movies etc ) ASUS Orion Pro Gaming Headset | ASUS,Orion Pro,886227266425,Gaming Headset,Benchmarks,Performance,Reviews,Greg Schepers,ASUS Orion Pro Gaming Headset Benchmark Performance Review by Greg Schepers . A great gaming headset makes a huge difference for me, it may sound silly but my headset makes me feel like I am in the game itself and it almost feels as if I have a 7.1 system set up around me hehe. I went ahead and spent my speaker money and my headset money together on my set which is the Sennheiser PC 363D. They are simply amazing is all I can say, but anyways good luck on your purchase. Having a great headset made a world of difference for me =)

So I received my Asus headset last night. Wanted to let you guys know I'm very happy with, so thanks for your advice ^^ I bought exactly 10 games (BF3, CoD BO, MoH WF, CS GO, etc) this week while waiting for it to arrive, so i'll definitly be using it a lot :p
I'm so glad I didnt settle for a €20 headset, which would have been 'just fine' for playing online. But now I really have the feeling I got something that has quality (A rare thing in a world where cost is starting to dominate other factors), and the 'cinematic' effect when playing the cod series is just sooo intense. I can't believe I played singleplayer games without it. It was like eating steak, and enjoying it, but without knowing that adding the Tartar would make it soooo much better ^^
