My headphones have screwed up both the audio on my desktop and laptop (Sager 5790). After using the headphones for a few weeks on my desktop, one of the audio channels stopped working (it could work if I jiggled the cord around enough and got something to hold it in a certain place but even that eventually stopped working). So after having no audio in one ear and not-so-great audio in the other, I tried the headphones in a different headphon slot which worked fine. Assuming it was just my desktop screwing up, I used those same headphones on my laptop for a few months until finally they messed up for good and the same problem occurred, except my Laptop only has one audio output slot so I'm stuck with laptop speakers.

I bought the Creative X-Fi notebook soundcard so I could have a working audio port (to take advantage of my warranty and get it fixed I would need to ship it to Ottawa which would render me without a laptop for a few weeks, which I cannot do). Now I'm scared to use my headphones on the soundcard because it's probably going to screw it up too.

Should I just buy new headphones? Anything comparable to what I currently have (maybe a Seinhesser equivalent)?

    Thanks
