Excuse the obvious excitement, I really want to let everyone know how great this technology is! It's AWESOME!!! And keep in mind, I bought the small microsoft mouse for 19.99+free shipping off newegg.ca, it looks like a mac mouse.

I've got another microsoft laser mouse I use with my laptop, as well as a logitech wireless laser mouse (cost 120 with keyboard) that I had for like 5 years. And I really believe the hype that this thing tracks better.

Some may argue that modern lasers track superbly on any surface (glass excepted), but I've used this bluetrack mouse on EVERYTHING. My other laptop, my laptop bag, my hand, my hair, a glossy desk, my couch, etc...and it goes without fail. It even works on WHITE PAPER!!!! which has always been a death sentence for my laser mice.

I really recommend the $20 wired mini mouse for anyone who needs a superb travel mouse, especially if you can't guarantee you'll always have a good surface to use.

Again, I'm not one to toot a product's horn, especially a microsoft product, but GET THIS MOUSE!!!

Aside from the obvious "it tracks on anything", this mouse works a lot better than my laser, I should say. It's faster when I want it to be, and more precise I would say (subjectively).

Yes I have the microsoft 6000 mouse with bluetrack and it is the best I have seen yet. I even use mine on my glass table and it works. Not as finely but it works good enough to pick netflix movies when i hook it up to my flat screen tv.

^^I have the MM6000 its a great mouse & the b.track is very nice. Someone has the MM5000 on sale for around $20 right, just cant remember who.

@OP if you think Blue-Track is great, you should check out Logitech Darkfield Techn. on the Anywhere Mouse MX :)

I had that mouse. The USB burned out on me so I went out and bought the Logitech Performance MX with Darkfield. I spent a lot more money but was well worth it.

For the record I loved the 6000's feel even if it was tiny.

Hmm white paper was always like the surface I would use for a mouse when on a surface that sucked like granite or glass and all my mice work well on it.

I love Microsoft mice, always have. They last me forever. :) Some of their cheaper keyboards leave a lot to be desired, but I once had one of their ergonomic ones and liked it a lot.

A new version of the Revolution MX with Darkfield tracking would be sweet.
I still think that scrollwheel is superior to the Performance MX.

He was talking about using the mouse on like a granite counter. He uses a piece of paper so the sensor doesn't get confused :D

Under most gaming circumstances the sensor itself is the same as any other mouse. Not sure about jitter, prediction, or anything else like that, as those are most often driver issues and would probably depend on the model of mouse.

They do have a much higher lift off distance though, so if you play with lift then that could be a problem. There are no z-tracking issues, but it basically tracks up to something like .7cm above a surface. So, if you pick up your mouse on a diagonal to the right (so that the bottom right side of the mouse is touching, but not the bottom left), your pointer will move to the left. If you pick up your mouse and rock it side to side, your pointer will move side to side.

Really with the white paper? I've always found it the worst surface, but maybe that's because the mice move so unevenly on it. Literally move...like the bottom of the mice aren't made for paper...

If you like Bluetrack, check out Logitech's Darkfield. It's even better.

I think mine was broken because the battery dies within a week and never seems to sleep/turn off unless I take out the batteries. My dad's Microsoft mouse also did the same (different model). Not a good impression of them (of all the hardware I've had Microsoft was the only one to fail... both the mouses and xbox), but hell, for half the price of competing mouses I'll end up trying again. Maybe one day they'll get it right for us.
