Abaxter topic "girls only" made me curious. What computer topic would actually be gender exclusive... Alas... Fashion!!!!
Anyway...with regards to the pink color... You can customize the cover of your laptop by airbrush... I have seen laptop with spiderman, superman. Though haven't seen one with "x-rated" pictures.
However, I don't know where they had it made... If you know where, pls do post it...

Anyway pls reply if you are a male or a female... Just for fun... let us see the result...[ ][ ][ ]

 

Let me be the first one...What would be nice though is a product like a T-shirt transfer which you dont iron out or one of those "do it yourself" pictures like in the cake that can be appled on Laptop.

That would surely be an instant hit. And that person would be a billionaire in a flash.

It is quite do-able, there are paints with can fuse with plastic to make it permanent or you can make it temporary like the tattoo used by kids to imprint on their skin. So that product would be the Henna(temporary tattoo) and the Permanent tattoo of the laptop or even PDA or whatever surface you have.

Think of the market... Disney characters, Superheroes to x-rated pictures or what have you. You have all ages buying that product. Call your product "SECOND SKIN" [8D][ ][8D]

So if you are going to invent it, just be generous enough to give me a commission... One Million would do...(Besides that is a Billion dollar we are talking.)

Check that site out, they offer custom paint jobs on laptops.

Though you cant get the spiderman treatment and or X rated naughties you can get color that last.

Most people will paint their books themselves or get people at custom paint locations, like cars and motorcycles to do the job BUT they have to know what they are doing. Too much paint is not good for a laptop trying to dispate heat. . . .

I dunno, it looks they sell two models of laptops that they customize. Looking at the Services link, they seem to only offer coloring for Apple iBooks and iPods. That's OK, the sticker of a middle finger on the back of my LCD panel says it all [ ]

The idea of paint making dissipation of heat difficult is an interesting point.

How much heat does this paint hinder? Can it be enough to overheat the laptop?

 

I would be surprized if the paint really hindered heat transfer. Thin layers of most anything have minimal effect on heat transfer. Paint will be in good contact with the layer it's applied, negating gap resistance to heat transfer and I guess that the thermal conductivity of paint will be similar to plastic-both polymers. Thermal conductivity of most plastics is exceedingly poor (HDPE is 0.46 W/(m K), copper is ~400 W/(m K)), so I can't imagine that the heat transferred through the plastic is part of the lapptops thermal design. That would be poor engineering indeed. Upshot is that I can't imagine painting being detrimental to laptops heat transfer.
