Anybody have a list of models? I've been looking for a BT mouse for a LONG time for my 5672wlmi and have started looking again. i've only found a couple.

    Logitech v270
    Microsoft BT mouse
    Radtech BT600,BT500, etc.
    MoGo express card
    Targus BT laser
    IOGEAR BT mouse

i'm stuck over deciding whether to get a full sized or mini. and it does seem like the V270 is the cheapest, going for $42 CAD at tigerdirect.

anybody have experience with any of these? any reviews?

    TIA

I have only used the v270, so I have no comparison experience, but I love it.

It's accurate, never drops (only lags when coming out of deep sleep) and I haven't changed the batteries in it yet (purchased in August of last year although I do not use the majority of the time, I do use the trackpoint more.

I find it to be just the right size--it's not really that "mini" especially compared to my roommate's microsoft optical laptop mouse.

If you have any specific questions, just add them here-I will respond tomorrow morning.

As for reviews, check newegg or even this site (we may have some, not sure) otherwise just google "review [insert mouse here]"

I'm really tempted to get the Mogo mouse, but I don't really want to since it is expensive, not terribly ergonomic, and I worry about lag in a BT mouse.

I've got two BT mice, the V270 and one from Trust. I got the latter first. It is much smaller and more portable. However, I used to get random dropping of the connection, so I got the V270. However, this suffers the same problem and the fix is to turn off and then on the BT on the computer. So it seems the cause is BT on the computer and not the mouse.

However, I'm now less enthusiastic about BT mice having discovered during the testing of my Q35 that BT makes a substantial power drain so it is best avoided if you want to run your computer off battery.

hey guys check out the video of the MoGo mouse. youtube vid at the bottom of page.

i would definitely get it if I was always using it on the road, but i rarely do and i really am not sure about the ergonomics.

    @ vespoli,
as for the V270 is it a tad smaller than a normal desktop mouse? it would work good as its smaller but would probably still fit nice. AND i noticed it is a 1000dpi mouse as opposed to most of the others that are 800dpi.

    @ John Ratsey,
how much more of a battery drain did u notice when using the BT mouse? what computer are u using?
did anybody else notice any battery drain issues caused by a BT mouse?

personally it may not be a big issue for me since i'm always using AC.

I'll second the V270 recommendations above. Imo, its probably the best BT notebook mouse around.

To answer your questions,..., the V270 is smaller than regular desktop mice, but is among the largest notebook mice you can get. I like its size. I haven't really used the V270 long enough to monitor battery drain, but I can say that the batteries last for a while.

There's more about the BT battery drain in my review of the Samsung Q35 (link in my signature). I have just rechecked and with BT on and the mouse on the power drain doesn't drop below about 11.5W (display at 3/8 brightness). With BT off the power drain is around 8.5W (but the drop in power consumption is not immediate when BT is switched off). If BT is on and the mouse is off then, after a about a minute of higher power drain the power drain drops to around 8.5W as if the BT is sleeping, but it will immediately respond if the mouse is switched on. I thought that BT might be stopping the CPU dropping into a low power state, but perfmon shows a similar proportion of C3 time with BT on or off. So I don't know exactly what is going on and maybe my correlation between power consumption and BT is coincidental, but my investigation suggests that for maximum battery life it is best to keep BT off (at the power levels noted above, 3W = another hour of run time).

    @ John Ratsey,
wow 3W of can add up, especially considering you can get a drain of 8.5W. too bad i won't be able to do any tests, seems like my battery is dead. altho, it does make sense that having an extra device will cause a larger drain.

on another note, i've just purchased the V270. i have major disconnect/sleep/lag issues with the supplied software. apparently the MS stack sucks, and I had a widcomm 5.1.0.1200. i found the previous version of widcomm that has wider support and didn't bother to install Logitech's software. now the thing works pretty good.

problem now is, i've gotten so used to using the touchpad, that i get confused about which to use now!! :p

I was also looking at the Mogo Mouse X 54, but I think my Dell m1210 only has a 34mm card slot, and thus wont fit it....

Anyone have any ideas of a way to adapt a 54mm card slot either by USB or something esle of the sort??

I got the MoGo Mouse (PC Card version) to use with my laptop, and I love it. I was worried about the ergonomics too, but find that it's way more comfortable to use than I thought it would be. It's more like you're using the front half of a larger mouse rather than using a small mouse. I took some pictures and wrote a review of it on my web site:

    BT mouse for Dell 1405?

I just ordered a 1405, and hope to find a BT mouse that's compatible, reliable, and reasonably small.
