Trying to find a back pack that will fit my laptop that is in my sig. I bought a Targus back pack yesterday at Best Buy:
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...argus&lp=8&type=product&cp=1&id=1209165869136

The laptop will not fit. Not only does the battery complicate things, but as well as the corners of the laptop won't fit in the bag. Anyone have any other good suggestions?

    What I'm looking for:
    Accommodate my laptop (of course)
    Carry 1-2 1" binder notebooks
Carry 2-3 text books (thickness ranging from the laptop's thickness to the AC adapter thickness)
Carry graphing calculator, scientific calculator, pencils, pens, etc.
Carry AC adapter, wireless mouse, and a Targus notebook stand (it folds in half, therefore making it very thin).
Be able to carry other miscellaneous objects as well (iPod, food, drinks, etc.)

Geez, you might want to look into weight belts as well.

I'm not sure what exact model it is, but for my FX I bought a Swissgear backpack at Target. It was a bigger model than the ones i normally see there and while it seems like it was designed for 15.4 inchers, my laptop fits in the back pocket snugly. The zipper has a little bit of trouble going over one corner of the laptop but it's not so bad as to scratch or damage it. I also can fit some textbooks and stuff it the middle pocket. And the best part was that it only cost about $40 which is half or less of what most notebook backpacks cost.

Nels, c'mon. My little girl cousin can carry it. It's not that heavy.

I purchased the same backpack at Bestbuy yesterday and had the same problem with my 6831fx. After checking Targus's website, I found that the bag is actaully the 15" model and not the 17". It looks like the manufacter messed up and used the wrong part number.

I went back today and found a 17" one (they're mixed together). It's noticably bigger and fits the 6831 like a gloove. I can't believe how much stuff this thing can hold. Just for kicks, I loaded the notebook, a zalman nc2000 cooler, and mx5000 keyboard and there was tons of room left.

Did they sell it to you for the same price though, $49.99? I found the correct one. The main difference on the outside is a single zipper in the middle of the bag. They sold me the back for $64.99 instead of the $49.99 that was advertised in the Best Buy ad. Better than paying the $82.99 or whatever I suppose. It fits the laptop greatly! :)

As I asked previously, how much did you end up paying?

I got the Swiss Gear IBEX in the following link

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8483036&type=product&id=1186003258092

Got it on sale for I believe $50. Has room for my 7811FX laptop, power brick, 1-2 binders, and 2-3 textbooks. Also has pockets for cell phone and music player. I recommend it, but not at full price.

Oh, forgot to add that laptop fits with the battery out. With the battery attached to the notebook, it still fits, but is tighter than I like so I take it off. Not a deal breaker for me, but might be for some folks here.

$49.99. I'm surprised they charged you more because it's suppose to be the 17" version. Anyone with an FX will love this pack.

Totally agree on this backpack. Got the 17" one, and Bestbuy did indeed match the sale price. Fits the 7805u FX, battery attached, with room to spare.
