    Hey,

I bought a Acer Aspire E1-571 last week and I want to be prepared for whenever it s up :)

    The specifications are:

Intel Core i5-3210M 2.5ghz with turbo boost upto 3.1ghz
Intel HD graphics 4000, up to 1760mb dynamic video memory
    15.6 HD LED LCD
    4 GB DDR3 Memory
    500GB HDD
    DVD-Super Multi DL drive
    Acer Nplify 802.11b/g/n
    6 Cell Li-ion battery

    What I'm using it for:
1.Browsing + Working on my website (5-6 windows open sometimes)
    2.Streaming football matches
    3.Skype
4.Downloads will only be more anti virus and photos and items I need for my website.

I won't be buying games or putting films and stuff onto it.

However, I want to know what I will need to have backed up if it did break without warranty.

What do you keep backed up in case of the worst case scenario? How much will I need to spend to be safe?

    Thanks

That really depends on how much data you have to backup and if you want to backup the OS installation or not. If you only have a couple of GBs that you want to backup, a flash drive will do. An external drive would be best in my opinion though, it would allow you backup the entire Windows installation if you drive is large enough and should you want to. Windows has a built-in backup utility, but you cna also look at third party software like Acronis.

Large flash drive: ~20+ $, USB 3.0 drives will be more expensive.
    External 500GB drive: ~70$
