    Hey there -

Hoping for some input and options here, as the bag thread looks terribly old. I need a backpack (that is, not a messenger bag) with torso support clips. I walk oddly, and the right strap of my backpack will fall off after a few steps without said clips.

This will be a daily use backpack, and ideally, I'd love to use it to travel as an all-in-one solution. This means room for a couple changes of clothes would be nice, so that I don't need to lug two bags around on vacation or weekend getaways.

I've done some browsing on my own, and had a couple long time fans of their high end packs sing praises - but I'm really not looking to spend three figures on a backpack, as nice as the Everki packs clearly are. I'll be buying this bag in Canada, or via Amazon in CAD, if that matters.

    Thanks!

For travel I've had a bigger Swissgear. It's not pretty but it's got front clips, is comfy and has room for everything. Pretty sure it was sub-$100, and while I'd like a nicer one, this one has held up so well I can't really justify replacing it.

You can probably get the best result if you buy a good sleeve separately and a good backpack.

When I looked for a backpack that would fit my laptop and some clothes and tools for my work I would usually have a problem. When a bag looks nice outside, it has so many compartments that there is no single space for a water bottle or even a rolled t-shirt, even less for few cans of compressed air and such. Lots of flat and wide space for papers, tablets and even couple laptops though.

I used Timbuk2 HAL for few years but needed easier access to my tools, so I went for a big "military style" bag and got 17" sleeve for my work laptop. That setup worked fine except the durability of the bag was questionable, so now I'm back to my old Timbuk2 backpack for the time being.
