I recently bought the Asus G74SX 17.3 inch laptop. I would like to purchase a backpack style case for it. I was looking at Targus and Swissgear, The Targus Citygear or Drifter II are both 17 inch bags. But I read a review where someone said his Asus GX74 won't fit. I am not sure if that's the same computer as mine, but I don't know of a GX74, so I assume he has the same as me, G74SX.

He said the targus 17 inch XL bag worked for him. But I'd like to be sure...

Furthermore I am interested in looking at any other backpacks that would work for my computer. So does anyone have this laptop? What do you use?

Any help and advice is appreciated!

I'm pretty sure the Alienware Orion M18 should be able to hold it. The Targus XL seems to be able to fit up to 18" laptops if I recall (might have been the Clevo x8100, can't recall). Not sure about the Astro Scout but can definitely vouch for it fitting the Clevo x7200.

Then there's the Tt eSPORTS Battle Dragon Bag but it may be overkill :D I should be able to review it when mine arrives though.

The backpack that comes with certain version of the G74 is the same that came with the G73 and it is a targus backpak. I do not know the exact model, but look for threads for backpacks for the G73, they have the same foothprint. There are a few models out there than can hold this beats.

Click on my sig for backpacks which can fit the Alienware M18x. I assume any of those should fit the Asus 17" and would be a good place to do further searches and research.

I fit my G73 perfectly into the Dell XPS backpack. It will perfectly fit a 17.3" laptop in the padded compartment.

I currently use the Alienware Orion backpack. It has been pretty awesome and if for the impressive weight distribution wasn't there I'm sure my shoulders would be purple by now. I'm currently looking into buying the Astro Sout but they are currently out of stock.

Targus XL Backpack fits perfectly, and has plenty of room for more stuff.

I use it for my G73, which is the same size as yours ;)

Asus G74SX-A1, G73JH-A1, G73SW-A1 comes with gaming backpack with Asus logo which is very good and durable. I have two Asus gaming backpack from my Asus G74SX-A1 and G73JH-A1 which can use for Alienware M18X.

Only some retailers include the backpack, and I've heard its not too great a backpack either.

Any G53,73,74-A1 or A2 always come with backpack, not some retailer. I am very sure.

Well you are wrong, i know this for a fact. SOME retailers provided a backpack & mouse, some only included the backpack, some didn't do either.

Just because it's like that for your country, doesn't mean it's like that everywhere.

Everki Titan, a bit pricey though

Newegg had a special that included the $200 bag when I purchased my G74SX. Very nice bag and will hold a bunch of stuff yet not very bulky.

I love my Eveki Titan as well. It's pricy, but awesome!
