As school picks up the pace, it's obvious that a small messenger bag isn't going to cut it. (The most I can cram into the bag is a paper notebook, 2 pens and my laptop sans power brick).

My current backpack is a Jansport - very nice quality but the straps are standard.

I was thinking of getting this... http://jansport.com/js_product_detail.php?cid=9&pid=TEC4

But my laptop doesn't fit inside the built-in sleeve. (It's too thick)

I'd really like to stick to a Jansport with "airlift" straps. Any suggestions? Or will I have to go the path of buying a sleeve and backpack separately?

i'd say www.ebags.com is a good place to look, and if you read the reviews, someone may have been able to fit a thicker laptop or even the same one. who knows?
