Don't know if they exist ... looking for a backpack carry case for my new Compaq x6000 17". I'm looking for something that looks like a sylish sports backpack with a choice of colors (not a big fan of gray, black or tan/brown).

If that's not possible, please list me some good sites/ alternative options.

    Thanks in advance.

    Ordered: Compaq x6000, 3.0ghz, SXGA+, 512mb, Ati x600 256, 60gig 7200, WiFi+Bluetooth

We're about to review one from www.mobileedge.com that accomodates 17" and looks pretty nice.

    Brian,
Is that a backpack or a carry bag? I personally prefer the backpack.

Does anyone know if the Alienware backpack would fit a 17" laptop?

    Thanks.

    Just a quick update.

I picked up the following notebook backpack at BestBuy this past weekend.

    http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=TXL617

It's a big backpack, but it carries my Compaq x6000 and my Dell d600 ... just in the rear laptop compartment. The front compartment has plenty of room for binders/folder/books etc. You could probably fit 2 large text books in there (if your back can take the weight). There is also a removeable Cell phone pouch on the strap, and easy access area for discs, and small front area for accessories. For anyone with a large laptop, I recomend this backpack. Not only does it work, it looks good too.

    Laptops
    Personal: Compaq x6000, 3.0ghz, WSXGA+ Brightview, 512mb RAM, Ati x600 256, 60gig 7200, WiFi+Bluetooth

    Work: Dell Latitude D600, 1.4ghz PM, 512mb RAM, 40gig 4200 HDD, ATI 9000 IGP, Wireless B, DVD-ROM

How much did it cost you at Bestbuy? I've been looking for a backpack for my zd8000. Also, how is the overall size after putting in lets say your notebook and a binder? I don't want the backpack to look really huge and clunky.

Well I'm 5'8 and I have a decent frame. I think I will have to go see how it looks in person. Just to let you know, the same backpack sells at compusa for 59.99....just if you wanted to save a few bucks.
