I've placed an order for the m1330, but I think now I'll need a new backpack to carry it to school. My current backpack is this one:

I'm thinking of getting a Tom Bihn vertical brain cell, and just jamming it into the backpack. The problem is that I typically carry roughly three (sometimes up to four, on very rare occasions five) binders, a tupperware box (lunch), a 1L Nalgene bottle, and possibly a textbook. It's pretty tight in there already without the brain cell, so I doubt it's going to fit well.

The options I am thinking of:

    - Brain bag plus brain cell. Seems to hold more stuff than my current bag ( the brain bag is bigger by volume), but it is a lot of dough.
    - Wenger SwissGear Synergy. Cheaper, but doesn't seem to offer as much protection as the brain bag, and unsure of the volume.

Can anyone suggest any better options, or weigh in on the options I've listed above?

if you're already getting the brain cell, you might as well get the brain bag. it's well worth the money. i'm loving mine. i just got it because i had to carry a lot of stuff on flights. otherwise, i normally just use my timbuk2 commute bag.

Hmm. Are there any other suggestions for laptop bags that are as ginormous as the brain bag without the ginormous price tag? I still don't think I can justify that price, especially after the duties I'll surely have to pay after getting it shipped to Canada.

I felt the same way about the pricetag the Tom Bihn stuff carries, but I finally bit the bullet and ordered an empire builder last year, and I'm still impressed at the size and quality. The brainbag is expensive, but it will last you forever, and I haven't seen another bag that size. You might want to think about using the brain cell standalone for a while, from time to time Tom Bihn sells bags with minor imperfections and serious discounts.
