I normally dont use my backpack for laptop during airtravel because the laptop compartment is at the back, and stuff would be on top of it.

However today I saw a bag with the laptop compartment attached to the "lid" (top) of the backpack. Do you know of other such laptops?

Do you mean the top referring to a vertical compartment at the aft-most (when being worn) end of the backpack? Like where normally the little pockets for pens would go on a regular backpack. Or do you mean some sort of funky setup where it lays horizontally when wearing the backpack...

I was at JC Penney's and browsed their bags and couldn't find anything close to what you're describing. I think the obvious solution is to just put your bag upside down so the laptop compartment is on the top side.

I think that you would be very hardpressed to find such a bag since its not very ergo ~ having the heaviest item furthest away from the body that is.

Why are you looking for such a bag? If you're worried about the screen pressing against the keyboard, the simply solution would be to just get a screen protector cloth and put it between when closing.

I think such bag solutions would only be okay for the lighter laptops, like Airs and Ultrabooks.
