Hi. Looking into carry options, and I'm wondering the following: Is there any reason I actually need to be able to fit the strap in a backpack (or on a sleeve) over the laptop? I don't intend to turn my backpack upside-down - ever.

For those of you who use slips/sleeves inside backpacks, how have you found the results (compared to what you might expect from a standard laptop backpack) - and vice versa?

I ask because a lot of the bags and sleeves I'm looking at are an inch short for the longest dimension, which seems like it wouldn't necessarily be an issue.

    Thanks,
    Howie

The thing is, you don't want it to be jostled about too much. That can be tough on internal components like the HDD.
