    Hello NBR,

I am looking to purchase a USB drive to backup files from my home desktop. I will not be using the USB drive as an everyday drive to take it with me wherever I go - rather it will stay somewhere and I will backup files to it every week or so.

Now my question is: Will a 16gb be enough to backup folders such as My Documents (~1-2gb), My Music (4-5gb), and a few other things (1-2gb)? Does it provide good backup utility -- as in will I lose any information (once again I will not be traveling with it)?

I plan on simply dragging and dropping onto the USB after organizing folders.

Can you guys recommend any good 16gb usb drives, even 32gb if they are close in price? Quality is a must, however.

    Thanks!

if the drive isnt going anywhere i suggest buying a 320gb. I have a cast iron Lacie 320 and it rocks. Great for keeping stuff backed up :)

I agree, you'd probably be better off with an external hard drive.... and you have multiple times the amount of space.

If you are really firm on buying a USB drive, I'd recommend any of the Patriot usb drives.
