Can you guys help me find a bag that can fit my Alienware M11x, Nikon D40x with 18-55mm len, and maybe a little room for a 3 ring binder? I need this bag for the up coming Anime Expo.

I wouldn't recommend putting your SLR in a backpack naked. If you already have an SLR bag, why put it in a backpack? You never know when a great photo opportunity may turn up. I used to have mine in a backpack all the time and kept missing what could have been great shots. Now I never put them in a bag.

Any 30 liter bag should be big enough, with a lot of spare room. It's definitely the most comfortable size (usually as big as your back). A 20 liter may be enough too, since the m11x is pretty small. I like Lafuma and North Face for my backpacks, though I don't know if their bags come with laptop sleeves/compartments.

Edit: For some reason I thought you were asking about backpacks. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend putting an SLR in a messenger bag, or anything that's as narrow as one. Backpacks are really the way to go, in my opinion.

Any of these should suit your needs. Lowepro - Notebook & Camera

I should mention that I do not own any of these bags, but have used a few (one being the D550 AW) and they are good quality. I'm mainly a photographer, so I bought one for my camera. The bags are light weight, high quality and well priced.

I would also recommend Lowepro. I have been using one of their bags as my computer bag for several years and the bag is so good (light, well padded and plenty of storage) that any new computer has to fit the bag.

I carry all that and more in a Oakley Kitchen Sink backpack. If you want to spend less look at the Oakley Icon, or Oakley Echo Charlie for even lower price.
