I recently picked one of these up for all my externals and mice, keyboard, etc, but it only works if the power cord is in and one I turn my laptop off, and than I have to detatch the power cord to make it turn off the other devices (like my externals). Can you tell me how my devices can turn off as I turn my computer off.

Go to your device manager, under USB controllers, look for your hub and go to the power management tab. Check for "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power"

It didnt work for me, but maybe you should give it a lookie.

    Looks like thats already checked.
I just got this from NewEgg last week.
Is there one 7 port USB Hub with a power supply (a reliable one), which has a power on and off button?

**** this thing is getting quite annoying. It can't do anything without having power, and than when you turn off the computer, it decides to stay on.
What can I do here? Is there a 7+ port hub with a power adapter and on/off switch

Doesn't work for me either. I have a 4 port externally powered USB hub, luckily there is a power switch on the hub. but I rarely turn it off.

    I have the same hub.
Everyday here is what i have to do make sure my devices will work.
There is a power cord ac attached to the hub. I have to plug that in before powering up my computer, and than pull it out after turning off my computer. This is ridiculous!

I would think there is a hub with multiple ports that draws power from A/C, which would let me connect all my devices, and will turn off entirely once I turn my laptop off.

    Does this not exist?
