I have a dell 1520 and am looking to purchase a 22" lcd monitor to hook it up to at home. I'm looking at brands like Acer, Samsung, and HP. Some specs read contrast ratio's from 500:1 to 3000:1 with prices ranging from $250 to 500. Can you guys give me some advice as to what to look for or what is a really good screen for a decent price (i'm a student and don't want to break the bank).
I'm using it from all my entertainment goodness...ie. movies, games, tv shows, etc.
thanks!

I got a Samsung 226BW on Buy.com for $299 total, am using it now and it's a pure pleasure. Works great over VGA or DVI and comes with useful calibration software. (and, it's got an awesome design)

PS: make sure you use it at native res of 1680x1050 -
I'll second the Samsung 226BW recommendation above. Dell monitors are also really good.

Anyone have any experience with Envision? They have a 22" on newegg for $259. I was also wondering about their tv's, maybe use one of those for a moniter, there is a 19" 1080i tv at costco for $299. It even comes with a 1 year warranty, at least (not completely sure if it is refurb, if new it has a 2 year warranty).
