i personally prefer logitech products as I've had very good experiences with them however my current mouse isnt made for gaming as when I move really fast it doesnt register and the mouse just locks and this sucks when your playing FPS's

anyways let me know what you guys think i should get so i dont have this problem anymore!

Get the G15 for keyboard and the G5/G7 for mouse.

Well while this thread is up I have a question for a notebook mouse and how good it is for gaming. Does anyone have, or has tried the Logitech V400? It looks like a really good notebook mouse, and Im 99% sure of getting it. Can anyone give some performance reviews on it? specifically while gaming?

hmm the G15 is not cordless and that combo would be far too expensive.. i dont want to spend more than $100 USD and would rather get a combo so they use the same reciever

Don't get a cordless keyboard. For a cordless mouse get a Logitech G7 or MX1000.

I never really found that much of a use for cordless keyboards, as you don't have to move them around all that much. But for mice, I love the logitech cordless mice. I have the mx1000 for my desktop, and it's the best mouse i've ever used. I need a new mouse for my laptop, and while I would love another mx1000, it's just not practical with that huge base station. I'm going to be ordering the mx610 soon. I tried it out a bit, and it seems to be exactly like the mx1000, just with a slightly different button config, and doesn't have the little piece at the bottom of the thumb rest. It feels almost identical, and works just as well. It also uses a little usb stick for the reciever, so you don't need to carry a big dongle or base station with it.

well I just hate having wires around, thats the only reason for a cordless keyboard and also yeah the MX600 series does look good but I've been searching for reviews and it doesn't seem to be good enough for gaming use

I just looked at the MX 5000 desktop combo but apparantly the bluetooth connectivity they use is pretty bad and it disconeccts very often.

I've never changed the batteries in my G15. I've never lost connection or had a weak signal either. I never move my keyboard so what's the point of going wireless? You still have a cord for the receiver.

that is a good point but the reciever is on the edge of your desk so you don't see much of the cord.. and the cord isnt coming out across your desk and covering usable area

can anyone recommend any Microsoft cordless combo's that are good for gaming?

we bought an MX5000 set for our lab despite the mixed reviews; we needed a long-range cordless option for use in group meetings. So far it has been perfect, we have used it up to ~20 ft from the receiver.

and the wireless keyboard is useful for doing an experiment on one side of the room and entering data in a computer on the other side of the room.

I have tried the mx5000 and while love the design of everything, it lagged like there's no tomorrow. after a minute of not using the keyboard or mouse I would press a key and it won't show up on the screen until a little more than a second later, same goes with the pointer of the mouse. g7 is the best cordless I've ever tried, too bad I can't use it with my z5450 speakers cause of the 2.4ghz interference

from what I've seen and heard, i think the MX 3100 is probably the best bet, although its not cheap, its a great combo

I love the MX1000 as well. I use that with my G15. While the G15 is cool looking, I've found it to be rather bulky. The LCD on the keyboard has some uses, but not really what I need anymore.
