It would be cool if it was wireless, but that isn't necessary. Any suggestions?

Wireless keyboard + gaming = Fail.
If you're a serious gamer, why cripple yourself with a wireless keyboard? I feel the same way about wireless mice. Nothing sucks worse than your rodent dying in the middle of an intense frag fest.
Anyway, I have a Logitech G15. Excellent keyboard, LCD screen, lighted keyboard, lots of macro buttons. The key travel is excellent and the resistance to pressing them is minimal. The keyboard also types softly, which is a boon when your significant other is trying to get some shut eye at three in the morning.
I'd hate to suggest the Logitech G19 since it is so cost prohibitive. This is why the G15 makes a nice choice. -
I agree with the above post.
You'll suffer worse response time, and running out of charge in the middle of a competitive game will leave you... screwed. -
Yeah, I've been reading forums and reviews for the last half hour, too many bad stories about wireless:
I'm going to get a G5, a G15, and a v320 for on the go. -
Logitech G15 for the win, literally.
It hasn't let me down in the past year. It's nice and quick, and the GamePanel LCD is more useful than I thought it would be. The orange backlights aren't stressful on the eyes or distracting. And it's super-comfortable for regular typing as well. -
I've read nothing but good reviews for it so far. And I'm probably going to buy the first version (blue) of the G15 for the 18 buttons vs the single row on the new one. I can get one with a few Italian keys on ebay for cheap

I like the Saitek Eclipse II a lot. Types wonderfully, quiet, different backlight colors and brightness.
But I don't care about extra gaming buttons or an LCD panel. -
Logitech G15 and Saitek Eclipse series are nice.

Lol some of you obviously dont have any wireless gaming mouse or keyboard. I've never had any lag issues with the Logitech G7 nor the Razor Mamba. I have the G15 keyboard as well and there is no difference compared to a DiNovo when it comes to playing games other than having an LCD display.
-
It's a bit subjective and depends on what games you play but i would recommend a DKTBoard or Tarantula or Lycosa.
I have a G15 and it's the worst thing i ever bought.
The LCD is USELESS, the unique thing which i liked was the plugin to choose music in winamp using the LCD but i don't use winamp (foobar2k >>>> winamp) and i always use shuffle.
The G-keys r even more useless, it would be useful to buy in CS but i can't directly bind it in CS and the macro is way too SLOW, I'm faster doing B46 lol. It worked great to say "miss top, miss middle, miss bottom" in dota but not a big deal ya?
Plus the keys is good but not impressive (TBH DKTboard, tarantula and lycosa have a way better feeling) and the backlit is weak.
But what really me off is the weight and size... I'm a "professional" player and i attend to LOTS of lan events and carrying G15 is impracticable because it's heavy (not a big deal for me but...) and is BIG (because of the useless G-keys...) so it don't fit in ANY bag in the world (and mine is the Rev.1 so is even bigger). -
I tried the razor lycosa and love it very smooth and black lit .
-
BIGX333, sorry to hear your G15 didn't work out for you. I couldn't be happier with mine.
Not for everyone, I guess. I find the G-keys particularly handy in RTS games. -
Or WoW.

To echo other responses, the Logitech G15 (first ed.) has not disappointed in the 3~4 years I've had it. And contrary to popular belief the LCD can be quite useful.
-
TBH i could not recommend G15 for FPS gamers, i think that you can buy better things with less money. But for RTS/MMO would be a very good keyboard.
And about the LCD... Maybe i just find it useless because i have a tri monitor setup lol. -
I played on the G15. Ergonomics are nice but same to the better IMO G11, but the display is just something really useless (I can use software to monitor my temps and why the heck would i need to see my ammo/life on that tiny screen when I have the whole screen? :S) and the macro keys are WAY too much (I doubt many people make use of them anyway, except from RPG players I guess, even though I was never a big fan of RPG's (especially MMO), with the exception of Pokemon
(and some Final Fantasy)
The G13 cpuld have been a very good piece of hardware (especially for FPS players playing on a laptop), but the price is a joke for a small keypad, and it's again equiped with a useless display. It's more expensive than even a G11, which is a full gaming keyboard unlike the G13. OMG***BBQ!
The G19 is an even more overloaded G15, and this time the useless small display is colour, more shine,eye-candy and macro buttons, more to pay...
I believe the best gaming keyboard from the ones I know is the G11, which I left me with some wonderful impressions after I played at some LAN parties with it and I'm planning to get one one I also get an external monitor for my laptop. You can find some good prices for the G11 and it has the essential feel of a gaming keyboard: functionality, without the useless screens. I heard good things about the Microsoft Reclusa too, but it's not as attractive to me as a G11.
As of the Razer keyboards, I have no clue
At the end of the day, some products out there are a lot expensive in comparison to similar ones, all because of the unnesesarry features that are just added to impress the eye, and companies (not only making electronics, but all sorts of products) create a complex to the buyer that he needs (well nobody *NEEDS* a gaming keyboard, nice shoes and some wax to get the hairstyle he wants, but we can be selective to achive some good buys) something they won't use... Periferal hardware is becoming a form of fashion IMO (that's just my idea AND YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO FREELY DISAGREE WITH ME)
And as of a mouse, I will never change my G5! Simple and comfortable -
Epiphany: This thread should be @ Desktop Review. Why would you need a KB for a notebook? LOL.

Not hugely fond of the G15 for the keyboard. I like the other features, but the key action is what I consider paramount in a gaming keyboard, and in that respect the Logitech disappoints IMO. I'd suggest anything from Razer and Microsoft. The Microsoft Reclusa is what I use these days as a 'normal' keyboard - and if you deactivate the music player key (all too easily hit when pressing the shift key) I think it's one of the best-feeling keyboards for a fast gaming response at a decent price. It's solidly built as well and features (once again IMO) more usable cable management than the G's.

i use a multimedia saitek keyboard, just make sure whatever it is, you can press more than 3-4 buttons, especially the ones used in FPS games WASD space ctrl shift ... etc
I think the whole idea of "gaming keyboards" is kind of dumb... but the saitek eclipse would be my first choice, simply because i love this saitek multimedia keybord i got ;]
