Can someone give me some opinions on stylish/good headphones under $100? Prefer under $50, but usually the good ones are over $50. I am new to headphones, besides Sennheiser's I owned a in ear one and it was great, now I want a out ear headphone to travel with.

I mostly listen to hip hop, break beats, funk, jazz, etc if that makes any difference in the quality of the headphone. Also this headphone is for a itouch. Thanks!

Do you want full sized ones that cover your ears totally (circumaural) or smaller ones that just fits on top of your ears (supraaural)? Do you care for ones that go in the ear?

I want the ones that fits on top of my ear or full size ones. No in ear head phones. A headphone that is travel friendly and isn't to huge.

Definitely the Audio-Technica ATH-M50s. I got mine off ebay for $85 with free shipping brand new.

    ebay link

    I recommend reading some reviews:
    Amazon Reviews
    Headphone.com review

They are amazing headphones, very comfortable to wear for a long time, and well worth the money. To get better sounding headphones than the M50s you would need to spend more than $400. Also they are low impedance which means they are easily driven by portable mp3 players, laptops, etc... If you can get your hands on a pair locally, i highly recommend checking them out and trying them on. They are simply amazing! You will hear sounds in your music which used to be only noise with cheap headphones.

A popular Head-Fi recommendation is the AKG K81DJ / K518DJ (same phones). Not a patch on even the Bose Triport, but apparently they're 'Head-Fi approved'. I was not impressed for sound quality above all: it sounds like what it costs - for the discounted price I bought it at. However they are quite visually inoffensive, you might even say cool-looking.

The Sennheiser HD 212 Pro is still out there and if you can deal with the now dated sci-fi headband design (best rocked on shaved heads), it's a decent phone for the money (usually it'll be a tad over $50 - B&H has it for $70) for bass-heavy music.

Some may recommend the Shure SRH440 but it is probably best to bear in mind that these look monumentally stupid on your head - Something that the dedicated Head-Fi'er will see as a minor inconvenience at most.

Sennheiser have a few new phones out, of which I don't know anything about. The HD 428 is a contender in your price point - look up reviews.

Personally, having owned many, many closed phones my current choice for casual iPod use outside when I'm not wearing my in-ear monitors is the Bose Triport AE. It's comfy, a socially-acceptable design, compact, well isolated and sounds - well, good enough, certainly better than the K81DJ despite a hint more 'closed phone sound reflection'. They're a bit more, like $140. Are they worth it? That would depend on if you need a balance of everything I mentioned or just better sound. There are better sounding closed phones for <$150, but none to date offer that balance.

I'm using the Steel Series Siberia Full-size Headset. It pretty good for gaming and listening to mp3. The mic included is detachable.

I think your looking for some Grado SR60 for the type of music you listen to.

    Great headphones.
if you can bump your budget a little I'd suggest the 325i or 325is , they're amazing.
