Ok boys the time has come. I got the Storm Sentinel and the QCK pad.
All thats left now is a Headset and the N52TE/G13 (NO, i have not decided yet, lol)
So yeah but the only rule is i am only limiting myself to $50 because i don't game on PC very often. Well i actually do but recently with those Amazon sales i went crazy on console games, so i wont be playing for a while anyway (heh). Well i will be playing Killing Floor for a couple of days (Thanks HT!)
My NUMBER ONE choice is Logitech's G330. Amazon has it now for $42 and to me that is a great deal considering the reviews and such i have read. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance guys/girls.

^^^WHAT?! Really? That would have been as awesome deal....Any other headset that could compete with this at $50?

The Plantronics GameCom 377, hands down. I owned one for months, and sound quality was superb going in and coming out. Hell, I used them as regular music headphones with my iPod. The only reason I stopped using my 377 is because I got an $80 Razer Carcharias headset for free.
Also, I vouch for the N52TE over the G13. The G13 has more keys, but you have to move your hand around to hit some of them. With the N52TE, you can hit every key without removing your hand from the (extremely comfortable) palm rest. I'd say if you play mostly FPS games, stick with the N52TE. If you play MMO, RTS, RPG, or any other game that needs more than 16 key binds or so, then maybe the G13 is right for you. -
Well you can still get the g330 for $30 if you buy them open box from newegg.
Almost all of sennheisers headsets including the $30-50 one will have good sound quality, but the mic really just depends. Since I have never used the cheaper sennheiser headsets, you will just have to search around on the internet for reviews. Plantronics makes a really decent $50 headset called the Gamecon 377. -

Lol you must be like "you are still deciding between the 52 and the G13........RAWR!"

wow i feel dumb....................that was the 777 and i was looking at, lol. OH well this is ever cheaper though the 777 looks pretty darn nice.

i bought Sennheiser PC151 ~3 months ago. its a bit tricky with glasses but it works. nice sound while listening to all stuff between orchestral soundtracks (pirates of the caribbean), gaming (arkham asylum) and usual radio tunes (rnb, pop, rock and others usual stuff)
PS:
some say its too small or not wide enough... i dont like those headphone style who covers the complete ear. think its personal taste at all. -

I think at $50 the 777 is a good place to go. It works with PS3 apparently as well. Though some people said they had problems with it on PS3.
Still it seems like more Content then the G330.
@2k5 I will check out those Sennheiser's thanks. -
Whatever you get Red Dragon I want a review when it gets there!
I seem to be following you in accessories, my mouse gets sick and I need a new one then so do you. I bought a pair of ASUS wireless headphones, not bad for ventrilo but useless music wise. Using cheap Rosewill headset right now, games and music quality getting to me.
Same price range, though if I wait till March (birthday) I can bump the budget up if needed. -
I'm a 377 user myself. I also considered the G330's, but my luck with Logi headsets hasn't been too great. Almost always had an issue with the mic or one of my earphones dying due to the thinness of the wire eventually breaking down from the inside. The 377's have thick encased wires and I like that I can tuck the mic out of the way. I still remember when I first used them in game and turned my head to the side to look around when I heard this strange noise, only to realize it was a part of game.
Most of the complaints you'll see will have to do mainly with their 'grip' while wearing. I don't find them tight at all. I can slip mine on without adjusting them and they sort of 'hug' you. These are also open eared, so you'll still hear a bit of whats going on around you, which can come in handy if someone is saying something and they don't realize you can hear them.
Hmm, come to think of it, my bf's birthday is coming up. I should probably order the 777 for him so I don't have to hear him when he's in TF2 and practically yelling into the onboard mic. Plus the grey/black theme would match the Satellite I bought him last year and I could steal his dongle. lol
Thanks for the heads up on the price drop! -
Personally I'm looking for a good pair of circumaruals, so I would go with the Plantronics 377. I actually found the 376 (the same headphones, but closed, to block out all external noise) for $32 Canadian, so you should be able to find the 377/376 for a really good price, even better than the $42 Logitech
Interesting topic though, I too would like to hear your thoughts on whichever headphones you choose, good luck.

. I will help you with your choice when the time comes for you to get on as well
In Team based games like Left 4 Dead it comes in handy.
Yeah i am still considering the 777 but because i just bought a Hori gaming stick I am still stacking up my Gift cards. Reading reviews, this works well with Windows 7 out the box which is awesome. I like the Mic tuck away feature. Though i must say i prefer behind the head headphones instead.
. The main reason why is because I think it looks cool and is the most effective form factor. Yeah right now as it is I am only considering the 777 and G330. These are the two most appealing to me for the price.
Yeah I will Let everyone know about my choice.

Sorry bout that, must have missed it while skimming the thread. I personally do use a behind the head headset, but unfortunately the speakers stopped working (the day after I shredded my receipt). Good thing you're doing your research, it's what I should have done, I just picked up cheap pair at Staples.

Hey JTF2,
I went with the ASUS HS-1000W Wireless headset off Newegg.
Honestly I went with them mainly on brand name alone. Price was pretty middle of the road at the time. Novelty wore off pretty quick though. Works fine for voice chat, though people complained on Ventrilo I sounded (different). I've kind of retired them to my friend sitting behind me using them for skype atm on his mac. Ya surprisingly for some programs on the Mac it works, others programs it doesn't.
But for games and music it just wasn't enough for me. Only time I use them is when I want wireless music when doing some menial task around the house.
Hence why i'm waiting for good old Red Dragon to find the diamond in the rough (again) -
I liked my behind the ear Logi's while they lasted, so I can understand the preference. Unfortunately, I'm one of them unintentionally 'rough on stuff' users. I should be the one testing things for durability whenever a company comes out with something new.
My best example is when those indestructible bendable eye glasses came out. Got a pair since I needed a new prescription and they broke at the nose piece. Hence why I mentioned the thicker wires on the Plantronics. Just in case anyone reading this has my sort of luck as soffar they've survived me using them. -

Lol, You should be a product tester for sure. Plantronics from my knowledge is a pretty reputable company. Even though i never owned and products from them, i would try it out because i know for certain that they are good from both reviews and speaking to customers.
Maybe my research will help you in some way
-
I never really stressed my Plantronics 377 very much physically, but it gave me the impression that it could really take a beating.

I actually took advantage of buying the G330's at bestbuy when they were on sale for $30... I can tell you they were almost a steal for that price...The comfort of them is great and I could wear them for a while unlike my last logitech around the earset, that gave me headaches after a little while...I will probably write a review about them in a few days but heres just a few pro's/con's from my perspective:
Pros: Comfort is amazing for a headset, mic quality is great, audio quality is decent, flexibility to use USB/regular input, swivel mic with flexible earphones
Cons: Not many, but the audio quality of the earphones sometimes seemed a little lacking in the highs although I listen to a lot of this kind of music and am somewhat of an audiophile
For $30 I would def recommend these... even at $50 they have some competitive advantages although others may want a pure gaming set... these suit my needs overall
Best Headset for $50
