if you are talking about locks and tracking if the thing gets stolen, i believe that most locks will suffice. and for retrieval i would guess lojack but i don't use retrieval stuff since i just keep it safe to begin with.

if you are talking about security and retrieval software then you are in the wrong place.

    which is it?

ok i think i know wat ur asking. on download .com there is a software, i forgot wat its called, just look in the security section of it. but wat the program is, lets just say ur at a coffee house and u have ur laptop plugged in, u turn away and go to the counter 2 order more coffee and someone goes 2 grab ur laptop. they unplug it and u hear a loud alarm. that would b ur laptop going off if u had the program installed and warning u someone is trying 2 take ur laptop. i hope this helps

^ think ur talking about this:
    Belkin Laptop Alarm
    http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F5L013-Laptop-Security-Alarm/dp/B000RPVHDC

which is kinda useless (i have it, it cost me $0.42 :p)

Lojack for Laptops helps u recover, but its like 10% recovery rate....

u just have to take care of your laptop and dont leave it anywhere..... its a portable piece of equipment, unless u solder it to the bike rack, no lock is going to stand up to a decent wire cutter
