I've tried google-ing it didnt really get clear answers or opinions.

i know it depends where your fans are and such, but which fan cooling pads are the most powerful and most efficient, ive read that ones that blow air towards ur laptop are better than the ones that take air away from it.

share your thoughts, and if you can post a link to the product you suggest and a price would be helpful as well.

Not sure what a cooling pad/mat is , but the Zalman NC-2000 is awesome.

The Zalman ZM-NC1000/NC2000 have had the most success.

The other good ones that have shown promising results:
    - Cooler Master Infinite
    - NZXT Cryo LX

i dont think that statement is very accurate.
most ppl go with the zalman units cuz thats what alot of other ppl have. they're just too scared to think outside of the box or try new things.

NZXT cryo LX is the best, to me.
best looking - the brushed aluminum finish matches my tuxedo m1530 perfectly.
    best straight-forward design.
and it actually works in most types of situations. no need to worry about fans bein blocked while its on yur lap.
its well designed and built out of solid aluminum. i'll prolly keep this cooler for forever. if the fans go out, i'll just buy some replacement fans.

Actually he is right, due to the location of vents is better for some notebooks then others but most benefit best from the Zalman series over the NZXT cryo. It all depends on the design and overall cooling is some times more effective then just the fan.

actually u'r wrong. the cryo lx covers all of the vents on the m1530.
the nzxt will cool pretty much any laptop under 15.4" whether vents are located on the front or back.
the zalman doesn't even reach rear vents that well, if at all.

    Calm down folks.

The Zalman coolers has been out and established for a longer time already.

It has a general [air hockey-ish] design that works well with many notebook designs.

The Cryo LX is very promising as well, especially if the notebook it is being used with has the vents lined up with the fans.

As for my notebooks, the Cryo LX would be useless, since my GPU vent in near the bottom left corner... which the Zalman cooler was the only cooler on the market that gave airflow to that section.

    So to conclude:
    - choose the cooler that best fits the design of your notebook. :)

at the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference. i love my rolls royce (of laptop coolers). :p

I know i went with the NC-2000 because the 5796 is a pretty big laptop and most coolers that are out there are to small.

it depends on your notebook. Is the intake for the fan on your laptop in the back? if so, you should look at the cooler master infinte or the NZXT.
