I have a M-6862 Gateway and was jsut wondering what others had for their temps.
    I use HW Hardware Monitor
    At idle-cpu 5 c -gpu 31 c
    Work load- cpu 20-25 c -gpu 51 c

I dont know if those are good temps.
I'm also using a custom cooler on the chips with a 120mm fan on top of that.

Welcome to the NBR forums. :)

    those temps are perfectly acceptable.

check out the NBR Cooling Central.

I do not think your monitoring software is reading your temperatures right. 5C idle is much too low. Do you live in the arctic circle?
If those temps are 5C above ambient than that make sense

You can use coretemp, hwmonitor, cpu rightmark, and everest to read temperatures.

Whoa.. Check the other core of the CPU. 1C.
Isn't it against the law's of physics for the CPU to be cooler than the room temperature, especially while its running?
Unless the room temperature is indeed 33F or lower.. Than you live in a freezer. Not a fridge :)

If those temps are accurate, than what is your room temperature?

I ask because I have a cooler much more powerful than yours and I cannot reach those temperatures on my cpu

yup, definitely impossible. Their is no way that you temperatures can be cooler than room temperature, unless you are introducing water cooling or using another coolant other than air. If you are using straight air cooling, you cannot have temperatures below ambient temperature. It does not work. I can crank my laptop cooler to full power which is just under 1000cfm, and the lowest temperatures are room temperature, and the max temps are just a few degrees above room temperature:

Your sensors are definitely reading the wrong temperatures, or you edited your hwmonitor readout page

^^^ I do not understand what you are talking about.
I use an ac power adaptor with my laptop, and I have a separate power supply for my cooler.

With air cooling technology, the maximum cooling possible is 0Delta T , or the temperatures are the exact same as room temperature. Your temperatures are way below your room temperature, so your thermal probe is not reading the proper values.
