I love my Wenger (SwissGear) Pegasus. That's for 17". What size laptop are you trying to accomodate?

What will the backpack be used for, besides carrying your notebook? What kind of notebook will you put in it?

A 15.4 inches, wide, notebook. I'd also like some extra space for battery, books, two gamepads :) .

Also, I like rectangular (vertical size bigger than the horizontal one) backpacks. Don't like when they're too square. And it should also be waterproof.

Finally, I don't want something too sportive, but nothing too formal either. A mid term would be alright.

ANyone knows a good one in this conditions? Thanks.

Too small, I think. I need to store a lot more than my laptop... But I like its style.

If you want waterproof, then I suggest you look at Ortlieb backpacks. None of them are specifically designed to hold a notebook, but it won't matter if you get a good sleeve, such as the Tom Bihn Brain Cell. I have the Ortlieb Flight 27, if you have any questions about that specific bag. Deuter makes excellent backpacks too (check out their daypacks), and many of them come with rain covers. I own a Crumpler camera case that I've been very pleased with, and I plan on buying a sleeve from them soon.

Found a shop that is selling the Spire Fuse ( this one), but I'll go with the new Spire Volt. I like its dimensions. It's not too bulky, it doesn't look too much with a laptop bag, but still isn't too "teen". Here's a nice review on it.

    Thanks for the replies.

Im surprised no one mentioned Pakuma. I have the Akara K2 - I have used it in various airports (esp. Indian and American ones...where they routinely manhandle bags).

There is a padded _fully covered_ laptop compartment (even the flap is heavily padded) and it is great.

And the marketing play on the word "Pakuma" aint half bad either
