I've been getting more and more into music production lately, and it seems that I either need more hands, or need to evolve past my mouse and keyboard. I use FL Studio 7 XXL Edition as my primary VST, but I use other programs to mix live. I am looking to get a relatively cheap (<$200) midi controller/keyboard that can offer me the things I need. I basically need to be able to assign certain dials different functions based on the program at the time, such as individual track volume, pitch, bpm, Crossfading, etc. If anyone knows of anything good or can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have an M-Audio Radium 49, which is a 49 key keyboard, with 10 faders and 10 knobs. It was very cheap, but it does the job. There are a lot of keys + faders & knobs combos.

Maybe if you give me a little more about what you think you would use most, I could narrow it down. Do you need keys? Do you prefer faders or knobs?

If you don't need keys, Behringer makes a couple of nice ones that should fall below your price range.

The BCR2000 is just a bunch of rotary knobs and some buttons.

The BCF2000 has motorized faders and some rotary buttons.

My Internet connection at work is kind of screwey right now, but I grabbed you a few keyboard links.

Alesis Photon: it is a pretty cool looking keyboard. It is supposed to be of better quality than the M-Aduio stuff.

M-Audio Ozone: This is a smaller one. It has audio ins and out as well.

You should just go here http://www.zzounds.com/cat--Compact-Keyboard-Controllers--2687 and start looking at keyboards that fall in your price range. At that range everything is pretty similar. Just look for certain features you like and the number of knobs and such that you prefer.
