    Hi all,

I'm looking for a mini bluetooth transceiver, and yes I know there are tons of them out there on the internet that I can buy. I bought an ASUS one off of ebay cheap, but it didn't work well. Every time I put my computer to sleep, I had to unplug and replug the receiver in order to have it work again (and yes I've updated the drivers). It refused to work with a lot of other things as well. Currently, I'm using a microsoft adapter provided with my BT mouse, but it juts out a lot and I have to always remove it when I carry the laptop around.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Odds are your laptop has an internal mini-PCIe slot, in which you can install an internal Bluetooth module. In my experience, they always work reliably, and better, they leave all your USB ports free.

I've got this one, and I've been pretty happy with it. Only tested it under Linux (only machine I have that doesn't have bluetooth), but I've been pretty happy with it so far. I can't link directly to the review, but this was in the reviews:

I thought of that but I contacted the Sony Customer Service and they informed me that there is no slot to plug in a bluetooth module, although I didn't mention mini-PCIe slot specifically. I'll try again with that though, thanks.

Thanks for the rec - I'll look into it more. I saw that one but seeing how cheap the others were ($5 ish) i didn't consider it much. I guess I really do get what I pay for..

Any ExpressCard/34 Bluetooth Modules? They're pretty rare. I've seen a few on Ebay but they were all BT 2.0 and I'd rather have 2.1 or even 3.0 (dont know if any of those are even out yet).
