What do you guys think is the best notebook cooler for a 15.6" notebook?
I'm thinking on getting one but am unsure on what brand name and what model to get. My budget is around $30USD

Lots of notebook cooler threads the last couple of days, I notice. I posted a similar post to this one yesterday, in a couple of the other notebook cooler threads, but wanted to respond to your question. I have a 15.6" dv5t and bought a cooler about a year ago. At that time, the Zalman NC2000 and the Antec USB-Powered Notebook Cooler got praises from other posters on the forum. Zalman is considered to be one of the best brands, and some version of this model is apparently still available. But see Chango99’s comment in the “Re: Is the Zalman NC2000 best for DV5?” thread of yesterday, Nov 13th, because he makes a good point regarding the importance of the placement of the cooler’s vents lining up with the laptop's vents. He suggests the Notepal Infinite from CoolerMaster, by the way.

But as I mentioned in the other post, there are also other things to consider, like how noisy is the cooler, does it suck air in or blow air out, if you use it on your lap, is it reasonably comfortable, how heavy/bulky is it, what material is it made of, etc. Even though you can't check all of these issues out before hand, I would go to a retail store like Best Buy (or whichever you choose) and take a look at some coolers in person. Then you can buy something on line, but at least, hopefully, before that you will have had a chance to really get a look at it.
