today i received my new laptop backpack and sleeve. They fit as if they were made to be used together. I use a backpack for school, so I wanted a sleeve that opened up top for easy access. that left my choices down to a waterfield sleevecase, spire boot or the tom bihn monolith. I went ultimately with the expensive tom bihn, because they had closest dimensions and the company just seemed like it was run right. the backpack i got was the dakine 101. I was also considering several victorinox but decided on the dakine because it had the features I was most interested in. Namely, the perfect fitting suspended laptop sleeve, hidden compartment, water bottle holders, individual compartments for sunglasses, pda etc.

my 700m with the extended battery fits perfectly into my tom binh monolith (when i mean perfect, i mean it fits it like a glove there is no room for anything else). this monolith then slides perfectly into the laptop sleeve of the dakine 101. the backpack is big enough for my notebook and 3 college textbooks plus a change of clothing. just wanted to share, because i know a lot of people including myself were wondering about laptop luggage.
