If you wanted the biggest and best budget TV you could get solely to watch lectures (occasionally very poor quality 360p ones) and be able to walk around or lie on a nice chair while watching them, what would you get? And ease of connecting/disconnecting a laptop constantly and have it work every single time?

    Around this quality even sometimes

Sometimes much better quality like a powerpoint style lecture

    Some things I'm afraid of
    1. Poor viewing angles when I am walking around in the room while watching the screen
    2. TV being broken after having it shipped to me
    3. Biggest fear- difficulty and frustration in connecting and disconnecting it to a laptop constantly.

Some TV's I have connected a laptop into have been headaches for me I have to sometimes figure out how to select monitor mode and sometimes it will work, sometimes it wouldn't.

There was a TV/monitor in my college dorm. I connected a laptop via VGA. Sometimes it would work perfectly, sometimes not at all. Fairly new TV. It had a long VGA cable out of it and was clearly meant for connecting your laptop to it.

I use an older projector with a VGA input, and a 115" screen!!! I got the projector for $100 from a local refurbisher on craigslist. The screen I made, cost double then some the projector... But smaller pull down ones can be had cheap.

Initially, I had issues with hooking my Smart Home Theater system to a Panasonic Projector through an HDMI adapter. The PC connection worked fine, but the HDMI got confused and whacked the picture. Something about overscan. I exchanged with the local seller for a slightly better projector with higher resolution, works like a charm.

I am not sure if this would work for you, but it is amazing to watch movies on! And I do sometimes use it as a second monitor for photo processing and the like.
