I am sorry if this has already been asked but I havent had any luck finding any specific post regarding the np8662 and the best cooler for it. I am looking to get a notebook cooler soon because I am worried about the HDD. For this notebook the HDD is on the bottom mid to left and it has no vents. The HDD idles at 50c ad when gaming it can reach 60c. Everything else on this machine gett pretty good temps with the CPU reaching 65c max and the GPU 75c max. I have limited my choice to either the Zalman NC2000 or the NZXT Cryo LX. On this notebook the top part has the CPU, GPU, and the fan while the bottom has the chipset and the HDD. The NZXT seems to have the fans based at the top and the Zalman has the fans based at the bottom which seems better for me. I was wondering what your opinions are and if you have any experiences for this notebook and a cooler. Thnx.

i just logged in with the intentions of making that exact same post
I have the same comp, same specs, same temps, and same question. I even narrowed it down to those two coolers. The only differance is that mine is dual booted with windows 7 RC and Vista

Yea I used that thread to help me out but I wanted to know which exact one would be better for this notebook. It is a pretty popular notebook so I was wondering if anybody had any experiences with it plus a cooler best suited for it.

it might come down to how u guys use yur notebooks. if u are a heavy gamer or use lots of graphic intensive programs, and want to focus on GPU/CPU temps over HDD temps. the cryo LX will take the cake. it will provide plenty of cooling for the HDD area too since the np8662 is a 15.4". the cryo LX's cooling surface is so big that u can move the laptop around to find the "all over" coolin spot.

if u are lookin to mainly cool yur HDD temps and want something a little more portable. then the nc2000 would be a great choice. sager/clevo laptops have great coolin for their GPU/CPU, straight from the factory. yur max temps are not bad at all. if HDD is yur first priority, with GPU/CPU comin second, then get the nc2000.

I think I am gonna go with the nc2000 cause I have seen some threads which show good results. Plus I need it most for the HDD. Thnx guys. Any more suggestions would be great by the way.

Id say the NZXT Cryo would e the best.

As well as the Enermax Aeolus CP001. (Review in sig) :)
Look in the User Experiences Section at the bottom. Someone with almost the same notebook (NP8660), bought it, and had good results. ;)

I heard the aeolus fan barely moves and the cryo rushes the air instead of forming a nice cold air pocket underneath the laptop, Mr.t!

The NZXT cryo is pretty nice if you ask me. Remember when someone posts a question that the search function is disabled.
