    Hi,

I would like to get a good quality/price cooling pad for my precision m4500. There is already a big fan on the left and it keeps irritating me since i'm left handed. I do several gaming on my laptop and it gets pretty hot. I don't mind the weight of the cooling pad since I will almost be using it on my home desk. I would like the cooling pad to be not too noisy. I would like to pay around 30$. LED lightning and other funky visual design are not what I am looking for.

I'm looking at zalman or nzxt cryo xl cooling pad but I think they are a bit expensive... give me some other alternatives or sell me the other two.

    Thank you.

To OP, avoid that cooler, since its release or even the original one back in like 2007 its been one of the worst coolers out there. Many failures, noise issues, simply does not cool.

Could you post a pic of the bottom of your laptop please

I opened the case and there is a big fan on the left of the unit (placed on the right of the picture).

Could you also confirm me that a cooling pad will not hurt my machine? Could there be more dust entering and could the forced air inside break something?

    Thank you for your help.

Also note that I'm left handed and I am considering a Cooling pad that will lift (at least) the back of my laptop so the hot air flow doesnt hit my hand when I'm using a mouse.

I recommend something with one large 200mm+ fan. Like the Enermax Aeolus or Thermaltake CS series, unfortunately both of LED lighting. The Zalman NC2000 could also be on your list as well as the Notepal E1.

I would honestly go for the first few on the list even with the LED the Aeolus should be fairly silent. The E1 is a fairly loud cooler and I dont think its right for you.

    it wont hurt your notebook.

to be honest, i'd recommend leaving the bottom cover off completely when your aren't carrying it around, and cleaning out the dust regularly. You probably wont have to take out the heatsink to clean the dust, just the fan.

Check out the Coolermaster Infinity cooler. I use it for my E6500 which has the smaller vents as you. If I keep both the cooler/laptop fan at max speed I can do 35c-40c (23c-25c ambient temp) with prime95/a game loaded with a core 2 duo T9600 2.8ghz and the Nvidia NVS 160m.

Here's a review I did for it with a Gateway M-6862, and the disassembly.
